Story
Erin and Alex met in 2014 when we were both living in Austin, Texas. Alex was working as a consultant for a number of tech companies, and Erin was in the final year of her Masters Program at the University of Texas. We met through an online dating website. Alex messaged Erin because he has a thing for women who like British TV shows (especially Sherlock). Erin agreed to go on a date with him because her friends convinced her that a man who flies airplanes to rescue puppies is probably not also an ax murderer.
On our first date, we found out that we were both originally from the Chicago-land area and then spent the whole night talking about fantastic Chicago food. Alex and Erin agreed on stuffed pizza toppings, and Alex managed not to make fun of Erin for supporting her Chicago sports teams (DA BEARS!). On their fourth date, Alex took Erin on her first small airplane ride, and Erin discovered how sexy general aviation can be. Two years, several moves between Chicago and Austin, a tiny one-bedroom apartment, and a house later, Alex proposed to Erin with a golden snitch engagement ring based on her favorite book series and her own aviation headset.
True to fashion, we are going to be starting off our married life together by taking on yet another move--this time to Yokohama, Japan. We plan to spend a year living in the port city. While Erin is doing research and language advancement, Alex will be working and trying to keep their two cats, Squall and Kairi, from destroying the village. We are also looking forward to the chance to travel throughout Asia
