Story

It's weird that the two of us actually crossed paths as kids, but never knew each other. We attended the same elementary, middle, and high school but finally met when we were nearly 18 years old, when my friend introduced us. We formed a friendship that’s lasted 14 years now.

From there, our lives went in different directions when he moved away to Washington. Eventually he returned, and we got in contact again over email. We shared many dinner and a movie friendship dates. I can recall one time, we were on our way to the movies and throughout the car ride, I kept stuffing mints in my mouth to avoid conversation. I was so nervous!

I later moved to Idaho for a short time but we still managed to call and text, states away. After moving back to California, two days later we made it official and the rest is history!

Tidbits

How did you first meet?

See Our Story!

Who made the first move? How?

He did while talking on the phone but I asked to make it official

What was your most memorable date?

One of our first dates, he took me to a small taqueria up in Placerville and it started snowing when we got there. Cold but magical!

How did he propose?

It was my 29th birthday. At that point, we had been together for 5 1/2 years and were a family of five with baby Skylar on the way. I was dropping hints but he finally got the memo.

He drove around for a little asking me where I wanted to go for my birthday. He drove off a road that led to Folsom Lake. We got out to take some pictures of the lake. I was facing the lake, turned around, and he was down on one knee.

What's the most memorable trip you have taken together?

We spent an anniversary out of town without kids and had the best couples massage, with wine and a sauna

Where are you going for your honeymoon?

Anywhere with a beautiful beach!

What's your favorite activity together?

Camping, and watching Law and Order Organized Crime and SVU

Who's going to take out the trash?

Zach. That’s what we have kids for!

We are regulars at

Olive Garden and Blue Nami Sushi

Who wears the pants in the relationship?

He likes to believe it’s him so...we'll say he wears them but I help him put them on
