Schedule

Q & A

For all our friends and family who have lots of questions, please check out our Q & A first!

Will all guests be vaccinated?

Yes, for the safety and comfort of all, the venue is requiring all guests to be vaccinated. The museum (venue) will require you to share proof of vaccination with us and we will reach out in April to collect them. (Please note: the museum is attached to an elderly resident community and requires an extra level of caution. We appreciate your cooperation in keeping their neighbors safe!)

Are masks required? Will they be provided?

The museum follows the City of Waltham for mask requirements; as of February 22, Waltham removed its mask mandate. However, the City of Boston & many surrounding cities/towns are continuing to mandate masks for now, so we recommend bringing your own along to be able to get into places other than the wedding itself. And while if we don't need to require them we won't, If you would prefer to wear one for any reason at the wedding, that is 110% ok with us and the bride will personally take down anyone who throws shade.

When is the RSVP deadline?

April 1st. We like our caterer and would like to keep them happy.

How do I RSVP?

Please RSVP using the button at the top of the webpage here. We apologize if the RSVP function is clunky - that's just how the website works. If you're having trouble, just email us and we can add your RSVP manually.

Can I bring a date?

Yes. As long as they eat their fair share. There's gonna be a lot of food, people.

Are kids welcome?

Yes! Just include them in the RSVP. There won't be babysitting services or kid-specific food, but they are absolutely welcome to attend!

I am coming from out of town. Where should I stay?

We have a room block at the TownePlace Suites in Medford, MA with a discounted rate ($179/night) - please see the above Travel section for details.

The hotel with the room block looks like it's not very close to the wedding venue--what's up with that?

Given how many guests will be coming from out of town, we wanted to offer a hotel that was in closer proximity to the city & easy public transport so that folks could explore Boston/Cambridge/Somerville if they'd like (and also not break the bank to stay there!). The TownePlace Suites is walking-distance to the Welcome Party (Night Shift Brewing), and we're using the hotel next door for our Sunday brunch. It's on the subway right into town and close to the airport. We'll run a shuttle bus from the hotel to the venue on Saturday, so no worries about driving!

What time should I arrive?

The ceremony seating will be ready by 4:45PM inside the museum.

Where should I park?

There is lots of parking at the Embassy Lot (behind Embassy Cinema) on Pine Street. Parking is $1/hour until 6. Suburbs FTW.

Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?

We are planning to have the whole thing inside the museum, because April in New England is a roll of the weather dice.

Are the ceremony and reception locations wheelchair accessible?

Yes they are! Let us know if you'll need assistance in advance.

Is there transportation being provided between reception and hotels?

Yes, we will have a free shuttle between the TownePlace Suites in Medford and the museum in Waltham. Exact departure times will be posted. Please make sure you let us know if you're planning to use the shuttles on the RSVP form!

What should I wear?

Whatever gives you that "vaccinated and ready to party like it's 2019" vibe.

What kind of shoes should/shouldn't I wear?

Clogs.

Are there any colors that guests should avoid wearing?

That's not a thing. Stop it. (If you want to wear white, you are welcome to!)

What will the food situation be?

Epic. We have put a ton of work into creating a menu we are psyched to share with you all, so please bring your appetite! Immediately following the ceremony, we will have a cocktail hour with an oyster bar and passed apps representing different places we've traveled to together. For dinner, we will have 3 stations featuring some of our favorite foods. TL;DR there is going to be an INSANE amount of all kinds of food.
Please indicate any dietary restrictions with your RSVP and we'll make sure all dishes have indications of any allergens/ingredients!

Will there be dancing?

Duh. (Plan shoes accordingly.)

What time will the reception end?

The bar will close at 10:30PM, and the museum will close at 11PM. An after-party will be held from 11PM-1AM at Brewer's Tap & Table on Moody St, just a few minutes' walk from the museum.

A shuttle is available to bring you back to the TownePlace Suites at the end of the reception, and after the after-party; please indicate in your RSVP if you will need to ride the shuttle back to the hotel.

What if I have a dietary restriction?

Please note it on the RSVP form! We will be sharing all responses with our caterer and they will have signage all the food served for folks with restrictions.

Your venue sounds cool - can I learn more about it?

Heck yes! Check out the Charles River Museum's website here:

I have a question not answered here; how do I contact you?

Email us! We're happy to help. Include a made-up answer with your question, and if your answer is better than ours we'll do your thing instead.

Fun Facts About Us

How did you first meet?

Online. Millennials, baby.

Who made the first move? How?

He messaged her, she took way too long to respond, but just had a gut feeling about this one. 3 dates in, Gillian informed him they would not be seeing other people. And here we are.

What's your favorite activity together?

Exploring Somerville and finding new dog-friendly patios in the summer!

Where are you going for your honeymoon?

We're counting all of our 2022 travel as an extended honeymoon! Sicily in May, Sweden in July, and who knows what other trips Michael has put on the calendar without Gillian knowing... (I have snuck in a secret Eurotrip as well! -Michael)

TELL US MORE ABOUT AMELIA!

We were wondering when you'd ask! Amelia is our 3-year-old West Highland White Terrier(ist), and she's been serving us terrier sass since we got her on June 1, 2019. She is the most stubborn, goofy, opinionated, adorable, and did we mention stubborn being you will ever meet. She is the love of our lives. It took Gillian 4.5 years to convince Michael they needed a dog, but she makes it all worth it. If you have a couple of hours to spare, ask Michael about how many tricks she knows and how she learns them.

What's the best meal you have eaten together?

SO MANY. Tasting Counter in Boston, Uchi in Houston, and Nineteen18 in Vilnius (Lithuania) all make the list. Most recently, Pramerl and the Wolf in Vienna.

What's the most memorable trip you have taken together?

Going to Jordan and driving around the entire country in 3 days is definitely in the top 3. Spending 8+ hours in the Singapore Zoo is a close second!

Registry

Your presence is enough of a present for us! We've been together over 7 years and own a house, so there's not many specifics things we need, but if you'd like to contribute to one of our funds here, we are very grateful. Thank you for celebrating with us!
