Rapee (Harriet) and Greg took some roundabout turns to find each other in the outback!
Rapee was exploring the country as a nurse, and for a time was stationed in Longreach, QLD. One morning a handsome fellow caught her eye at the bakery. They struck up a conversation, and after that Rapee made sure to stop at that bakery every day at 6.45am in hope of catching a glimpse of Greg. She told her girlfriends there was something different about this guy...
Greg was a gentleman, and stationed in Longreach as a medical scientist. Rapee and Greg grew friendly over time, but when he told her that his assignment in Longreach was ending, she was devastated. Greg went home, and Rapee felt she'd never see him again.
But fate had other plans. Rapee and Greg chatted every day online and via text. Rapee’s next contract was in Mt Isa. Greg pulled a few strings with his supervisor to try and get a stint(s) in Mt Isa. If they could survive 44 degree heat, communal cooking quarters and K-mart, Rapee knew she would find a keeper.
And the rest is history. A move to Brisbane, an engagement in Dec 2017, and we have 2 smiling happy people in love, about to get married!!
Tidbits
How did Greg Propose?
He nailed it! After convincing Rapee to take a long walk together, they approached a rocky area by the ocean. While Greg needed to convince Rapee to continue, she was soon surprised to see a picnic set up with nobody around. She wondered who could have left a picnic like this, and then he told her: "It's for you." Wow! Rapee stared and took a photo, and when she turned back to Greg, he was on one knee... Rapee felt it was perfect in every way.
How did you first meet?
Greg's version of the story: We met in Longreach, QLD. Rapee's version: *you don't have enough Internet bandwidth for that story*
Who made the first move? How?
A gentleman never tells, but let's just say that there was a "spark" in Greg's eyes when he saw Rapee coming back from the gym.
Who's going to take out the trash?
Greg does the housework. Rapee "supervises".
What was your most memorable date?
Degustation dinner in Tokyo! If you don't know what that word means, you'll just have to try it some time!
Where are you going for your honeymoon?
Thailand! Rapee is going to take Greg to a very special orphanage in Bangkok.
What's the most memorable trip you have taken together?
If you don't count braving outback conditions that would scare away any of us mortals, then it's adventures in Japan! And if their history is anything to judge by, this couple will continue to cover this world of ours together. With talent, courage and 2 brilliant minds between them, there's no stopping them!
What's your favorite activity together?
Have you even seen Facebook? Crushing it at the gym or cooking in the kitchen!

Are kids welcome?
Everyone is invited to the wedding ceremony, and we look forward to celebrating with your kids on their best behaviour celebrating with us!
Where should I park?
It is expected that the bridal party will use the parking in front of the chapel. Other guests are instructed to use the car park located on the left when entering through the main entrance (from the access road).
Is it okay to take pictures with our phones and cameras during the wedding?
We kindly request that you would unplug from all electronic devices whilst the bridal party walks into the chapel and throughout the ceremony. There will be a time for photos at the end of the ceremony, when signing the registry. Rapee (Harriet) and Greg would like to see you all smiling in their professional photos, rather than your beautiful faces covered up by iPhones.
Is there a gifts registry?
Your presence is enough presents for us! But we've made a wishlist at David Jones and have a Wishing Well for those who are stubborn. You can find a link to the website and registry on this website.
How can I help the couple have the best time during their wedding day?
Show up, enjoy your new friends and family, and have fun!
What is the policy on confetti or rice?
In accordance with the chapel's rules, no rice, rose petals, bubbles or confetti of any kind may be thrown in the chapel or on the college grounds. The bride and groom thank you for cooperating!
Can I upload photos to Facebook or Instagram?
Absolutely! We want you to have a good time and that includes photos, sharing with us, and sharing online. Hashtag those great shots! #thekellywedding

I am coming from out of town. Where should I stay?
Here are some details for those traveling to see us:
- Nundah is approximately 10-15 minute drive from Brisbane Airport. Nundah and Nudgee are on the north side of Brisbane.
- Don't get confused by the names: Nundah is our suburb, and Nudgee is the suburb where the wedding ceremony will be held.
Some accommodation ideas:
- AirBnB. Always a good resource for finding an affordable place to stay. You may want to book ahead! www.airbnb.com.au
- Prince of Wales Hotel. A hotel in Nundah, close to train, close to airport, close to Nundah Village - Woolworths, Sushi, Thai restaurants, cafes.
- Nudgee Beach Hotel is located north of Brisbane. Situated on Nudgee Road and within close proximity to Nudgee Beach, they offer an array of facilities and entertainment areas for everyone to enjoy. This accommodation is close to St Joseph’s Nudgee College, where the wedding ceremony will be held.
