Story

Gloria and Tim's first conversation was at their 2015 church Fall Retreat. They were both by the coffee machine, exchanged just a few of words and went their separate ways. One Facebook request later, they found ourselves chatting into the wee hours of the morning. One conversation quickly led to countless others throughout the week, which eventually led to their first date... and the rest is history.

On a sunny afternoon in June, Tim proposed in front of a mural painted by Tim, family, and friends. Gloria said yes, and now they are planning their wedding in Dallas, Tx.

And you’re invited!

Tidbits

How did you first meet?

Gloria: The first time we met in person was at church. But we had been paired on Coffee Meets Bagel and had heard of each other through friends before our first actual encounter.

Tim: This is a funny story, but we first met through Coffee Meets Bagel, in my opinion. She didn't accept me due to her initial impressions. However, call it fate, divine intervention or answered prayers because we also had multiple friends from NY and TX who wanted to introduce us, but never ended up coming into fruition, until we met organically at church. Where better to meet someone? =P

Who made the first move? How?

Gloria: Tim! He knew my birthday was coming up and wanted to take me out to dinner :P

Tim: Gloria definitely made the first move. Patience was not in her cards...haha!

What was your most memorable date?

Gloria: Definitely our first date. We had walked around Aurora Lights and had come back to the Chase garage only to find that the gates were closed. I was freaking out thinking, omg I'm going to have to Uber back, Tim's going to have to leave his car here, how is he going to get home, etc... But he seemed so calm and pulled out his phone saying he knew some people and started talking to someone on the phone. I was so confused but so relieved when security helped us get to our car.

Tim: It's hard to pick one for the most memorable date....but I would say our 1st date was pretty unforgetable. We met spontaneously to go to Aurora Lights in the Design/Art district only to come back to the Chase building's parking garage with its gates closed. It was pretty late, and I could tell Gloria was in this silent panic mode, but I tried to play it off cool (secretly panicking myself). I googled the Chase building and called their number as a hail mary, only to pleasantly have security pick up the phone and let us in to get my car...(I think being calm and collected impressed her when I was able to drive us home).

What's your favorite activity together?

Gloria: Finding new places to eat in Dallas! We're both so happy we're getting flavors from both the east and west coast. #texasforever

Tim: I would say eating is our favorite activity, which is why we've probably gained so much weight.

What's the most memorable trip you have taken together?

Gloria: Probably our first trip together to Austin. We had decided not to get each other gifts but take a trip instead. We had so much good food and got to explore so many cool spots :)

Tim: The most memorable trip taken together for me is when Gloria and I went to Sacramento to introduce her to my parents. It's the first time I have ever brought anyone home, but also reassured me from that trip that she was the one.
