Story

The first time we met, we were getting ready for a master's swim practice at the Multnomah Athletic Club - a gym in Portland, OR. Being athletes, this was the ideal place for us to find a forever competitor, err..
partner.

Jordan spent the next few weeks attending every practice in hopes of seeing Hailey again.

A couple weeks went by and he asked her to go watch a Seahawks game. Afterwards, we went rock climbing, making for an all day event! Jordan was convinced that this was our first date together. Yet, Hailey didn't hear from or see him again til another 6 months passed as Jordan was working in the Bay area at the time.

When he came back to Portland, we crammed as many dates as we could into just a week in town together. Hiking, Thai food, dancing, and surfing - being the most memorable. Hailey maintains that surfing was our first real date to this day.

Another 3 months went by, only this time, we stayed in contact the entire time. After this, Jordan moved back home to Portland and we've been inseparable ever since.

The final count down is on to marry my forever and always partner at the gym and in life!

Tidbits

What's your favorite activity together?

Literally anything active or outdoorsy! We've been on the go ever since we've met. These days, we like to include our dogs almost everywhere we travel!

Where are you going for your honeymoon?

Bali, New Zealand, Fiji, Croatia, Africa.......give us your vote!

What's the most memorable trip you have taken together?

Hawaii has a special place in our hearts as we've visited the islands almost as many times as we've been together. Especially Maui, where we did the channel swim race together.

Costa Rica is a close second as this is where Jordan proposed!

Welcome Happy Hour 🥂

5:00 PM to 9:00 PM

Let's kick off the wedding celebrations by sharing a place close to home for us at a reciprocal club of the MAC!

Parking at Outrigger Canoe Club is limited and if parking slots are filled, you are welcome to park on the street. We recommend Uber/Lyft, which will be no trouble on this part of Honolulu!

If you are wanting to get your steps in, it is a 2.3mi walk from Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort!

Jordan and I may swim our way over if anyone wants to join us earlier in the day!

Farewell Brunch 🥐 🥓

9:00 AM to 11:00 AM

For those of you who are staying into the weekend, we hope you come join us once more to indulge in breakfast together!

We are trying to make this easy on everyone, so decided staying close to the Hilton Waikiki Beach Resort would be the best option. Still need to plan out reservations, but Bali Oceanfront is the spot!

We know that Hawaii is a long trip for everyone, please consider your joining us in the sun and the sand more than enough already!

For those of you who are stubborn, we've put together recommendations to contribute to below:

Travel

Plane

Getting In

We recommend flying into Honolulu, HI (HNL-Honolulu Intl.)!

This is the only airport on Oahu, so you’ll have a long swim if you fly in somewhere else, although Jordan and Hailey will be happy to join you!

We will be staying at the Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort. Below, we have provided additional hotels in the Waikiki area to consider.

Car

Getting Around

Update: If anyone is interested and staying at the Hilton Waikiki Beach Resort, one of my best friend's, Lindsey found a deal on a 25-person shuttle through Royalty Town Cars. She is looking to fill seats, with her group included, there are still 12 seats available at $35 per person! Please reach out to her if you would like a ride to and from the wedding venue at: 503-367-3557

We are recommending renting a car for getting around the island of Oahu, as we will not be offering a shuttle service between Waikiki and Kualoa Ranch on the day of the wedding. Having your own car is a good option for visiting other fun spots on the island too, like the famous North Shore. So please coordinate carpool/car sharing with friends and family!

Please plan to drink responsibly. Another option to look into is booking a car service from your hotel. Although Uber/Lyft is plentiful on the leeward side where Honolulu is located, there are limited transportation options on the windward side where the wedding is taking place.

Note

Hawaii in January

Hawaii is always beautiful no matter what, but can experience windy and rainy weather just like any other state. Bring a light jacket/windbreaker and of course a swim suit!

Additionally, it can be a popular time to escape the rain and gloom in our favorite Pacific Northwest, so don’t wait till the last minute for those reservations.

If you need anymore reason to take a vacation, MLK day is the Monday prior to our wedding date, which could consist of one less PTO day for some!

Also, Kualoa is offering 20% off their tours and activities for wedding couples and their guests, which will be valid for 1 week prior to the wedding day and run through 1 week after the wedding date. *Valid for tours from 1/11/24-1/25/24*

“PED20"

Use the code above for booking tours ASAP, as inventory has been selling out 6 weeks in advance! Please visit the website below to view what Kualoa has to offer if interested:

Q & A

For all our friends and family who have lots of questions, please check out our Q & A first!

When is the RSVP deadline?

Please RSVP by September 1st, so we can have an accurate headcount. :)

Can I bring a date?

Please check our website RSVP feature by entering your name and email address!

Are kids welcome?

Yes, we would love for your entire families to be present! There's plenty of open space to roam around and if we're lucky, we'll be blessed with some farm animals alongside the property grounds. Please reach out if you have questions!

What will the weather be like?

If you've never visited Hawaii before, you're in for a treat! During the day, the temperatures will be averaging between 75-85 degrees. The weather is pretty much constant year round without seasons. This side of the island could have more rain aka 'light showers'. Please bring a light jacket/rain jacket for the evening, as the low isn't that low at 70 degrees!

Where should I park?

Venue specific parking is available in the three levels to the right of the venue roadway and includes specified guest parking signs. No parking is permitted on any of the roadways (drop-off is OK). Kualoa Ranch will provide signage on the event day to guide your guests to the venue parking. Guests should not use the main ranch parking due to the vast distance from the venue itself. Overnight parking of vehicles is prohibited. Please drink responsibly and find a ride home with friends/family!

Are the ceremony and reception locations wheelchair accessible?

Yes! Our venue mostly consists of open lawn, mild hills, and one under cover area. Please contact us for more details if concerned!

What should I wear?

Please see our Schedule for the dress code.

Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?

Our wedding ceremony and reception is fully outdoors, but there is a covered pavilion in case of inclement weather, which is unlikely. Please plan accordingly!

What kind of shoes should/shouldn't I wear?

We recommend anything from chunky heels, cowboy boots, tennis shoes, sandals, or going barefoot! Our venue is pretty much only grassy/dirt areas that you will have to walk in. Can't have any of you ruining nice shoes or breaking any ankles.

Is it okay to take pictures with our phones and cameras during the wedding?

Yes! We would love for you to take photos and share them on our app Joy.

However, please refrain from taking photos during the ceremony. Thank you!

Whom should I call with questions?

Please call Jordan at 503-475-7270 or Hailey at 503-413-9501!
