Camels Garden
The hotel is located in the spectacular historic town of Telluride on the Gondola Plaza, gateway to Telluride Ski Area and summer mountain activities.
It is adjacent to the gondola which will take guests up the mountain to the wedding ceremony/reception.
Please make sure to mention you are with the Loper/Magee Wedding when making reservations to receive 20% off
Latitude 38
If you'd prefer to stay in a house/condo as opposed to one of the hotels in Telluride, feel free to mention the Loper/Magee Wedding when booking with Latitude 38 in order to receive discounted rates on your rental.
Victorian Inn
Unfortunately we do not have a block with this hotel, but suggest it as a good alternative to Camel's Garden (or finding a rental through Latitude 38).
Centrally located in Telluride, close to the downtown area and the gondola.
Denver (DEN)
Denver airport is the largest airport in Colorado, and is >6 hours drive from Telluride.
It's not ideal, but if you are okay with a long drive it may be a more affordable option than flying closer. We would suggest exhausting the other airport options before deciding to fly here and drive the rest of the way.
Grand Junction (GJT)
The Grand Junction Regional Airport offers non-stop flights from six cities and hundreds of connecting destinations. Non-stop flights are available from Denver (DEN), Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW), Phoenix Sky Harbor (PHX), Salt Lake City (SLC), Las Vegas (LAS), Los Angeles (LAX) and Houston (IAH).
There is a 2.5 hour drive from GJT to Telluride
Durango (DRO)
The Durango-La Plata Regional Airport is a full-service regional airport with over a dozen daily non-stop flights from Denver (DEN), Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) and Phoenix Sky Harbor (PHX), as well as convenient connecting flights from over 300 cities.
There is a 2.5 hour drive from DRO to Telluride
Montrose (MTJ)
The Montrose-Telluride Regional Airport, only 65 miles from Telluride, offers multiple, daily flights, year-round from Denver International Airport (DEN) on United Airlines.
There is a 1 hour drive from MTJ to Telluride
Shuttle vs Rental Car
Feel free to get to Telluride any way you'd like, but given the small size of the town it's entirely possible to enjoy your stay there without a vehicle.
In order to facilitate this, there are several shuttle companies that will drive you from nearby airports to Telluride (and back again).
Telluride (TEX)
Beginning December 17, 2016, United Airlines partner, Great Lakes Airlines, will resume year-round service into Telluride Regional Airport (TEX), located just 15 minutes from Telluride Ski Resort. Great Lakes Airlines is part of the broader United Airlines network, allowing you to leverage United MileagePlus points and dozens of connecting flights to fly directly into Telluride.
Q & A
For all our friends and family who have lots of questions, please check out our FAQ first!
Where should I park?
You can park at the base of the gondola
Are the ceremony and reception locations wheelchair accessible?
Yes, the gondola is handicap accessible, and we can also arrange a shuttle to take guests up to the ceremony. There will be shuttles from San Sophia Overlook to Gorrono Ranch, and later from Gorrono Ranch back into the town of Telluride.
What should I wear?
Cocktail attire is welcome. It is typically warm in Telluride in August with highs ranging from the mid 60's to 70's. Wind and brief storms are not uncommon. Both the ceremony and cocktail hour will be outside. We recommend bringing a jacket or wrap just in case!
What kind of shoes should/shouldn't I wear?
We recommend that ladies bring an extra pair of shoes or wear something they don't mind walking along a short dirt path in.
Are kids welcome?
Yes! We're exicted to celebrate with all our guests (especially the little ones)!
What time should I arrive?
Give yourself enough time to take the gondola and make the short 3 minute walk to the San Sofia ceremony site.
