Story
~~ [Shaniqua]
It all began at #TheAnumAffair wedding celebration. My best friend Darianne and Eze's brother Obi had the most magical wedding Valentine's Day weekend 2019. The day before the wedding, we had our rehearsal, and I was paired with Eze. As we looked at each other across the church, we both shared shy, playful smiles, and we tried our best to coordinate our steps to walk towards either side of the stage, and to join together as we made our exit. This rehearsal was the spark of our undeniable chemistry, and on Dare and Obi's wedding day, as we walked down the aisle arm-in-arm during the wedding party exit, a photo was taken that revealed clearly our future together...
[Eze]
I was at the rehearsal for my brother's Obi and his wife Darianne's wedding and the other groomsmen and I were about to meet the bridesmaids we were going to be paired with. I saw that I was paired with Dr. Shaniqua Johnson and "Dr." title immediately made me picture her as an older friend of the family that was maybe really close to Dare and got chosen as a bridesmaid. I was ready to meet a new friend until Eric Black (a fellow groomsman and close friend) pointed Shaniqua out. I instantly felt butterflies in my stomach. I asked him "Wait, that's the doctor?" and I'm sure I did a bad job hiding my excitement. Thankfully, my stomach was right and I met the woman of my dreams that day.

Are kids welcome?
As many of you know, we love children! However, wedding celebrations are long and adult-centered for much of the day. Please take this into consideration, and let us know by 2/1/22 if you plan to bring children along with their ages and COVID vaccination status. Also, if you would like info on childcare, do not hesitate to reach out to us!
What will be the COVID precautions taken for the wedding and reception?
As the COVID pandemic evolves over time, we are working to ensure that our event is as safe, stress-free, and above all, fun as possible for everyone. Here is how you can prepare to attend! **UPDATED 2-28-22**
Fully Vaccinated Adults (Including Booster if eligible), Children >2 years:
- COVID test (PCR or Rapid) optional
- Mask Required During Ceremony
Vaccinated Adults without eligible Boosters:
- Negative COVID PCR Test within 72 hours of the Event
- Negative Home Rapid COVID test Friday night or Saturday Morning Recommended
- KN95 Mask Required During Ceremony and when not eating or drinking
Unvaccinated Adults and Children Over Age 5
- Given the unpredictability of COVID, unvaccinated guests over the age of 5 will not be permitted to attend in person.
KN95 masks will be provided for all guests that want or need one.
There will be a virtual stream option for those who are unable to attend in person (see below).
What will the weather be like?
Early March provides us with some of Houston's best weather of the year! It will be pleasantly warm during the daytime, with an average high of around 73 degrees. The evening time can get pretty cool, with lows in the mid-50s, so plan accordingly! It is less rainy during this time, and with all our events being primarily indoors, no worries! One thing that is constant, however, is Houston humidity!
Where should I park?
There is plenty of free parking behind Di Amici.
Are the ceremony and reception locations wheelchair accessible?
Yes!
What should I wear?
Please see our Schedule for the dress code. Note: Changing between ceremony and reception is totally optional!
Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?
Our wedding ceremony and reception are indoors, but our cocktail hour will have an outside option as weather permits.
Is it okay to take pictures with our phones and cameras during the wedding?
Yes! We would love for you to take photos and share them on our app Joy.
However, please refrain from taking photos during the ceremony.
Whom should I call with questions?
Please TEXT our wedding line at 832-489-9903 (call if urgent) or email happilyeveranum@gmail.com.
