Tidbits
How did you first meet?
See Our Story!
What was your most memorable date?
Our most memorable date was my first visit to Las Vegas, NV. It was the summer of 2012. John and I were visiting Ashley for a week. I had never been to Vegas before, I knew it was hot but let's just say I wasn't prepared for that type of heat. As soon as we stepped off the plane, it felt like someone was blowing hot air from a hair dryer in our face. Over the next few days, Ashley took us site seeing and the only thing that made the heat bearable was the air conditioner in the car. Well, there was a day Ashley had a ton of meetings to attend. We were both too young to rent a car and Uber/Lyft hadn't made its way to Vegas just yet soo... we walked and rode the bus everywhere. In 120 degree weather, it was truly a struggle. The rubber on my sandals kept sticking to the ground, finding any type of shade was absolutely impossible. We were hot, irritable and ready to go home. When waiting for the bus to go home, it broke down. I knew then we were being tested. If we could survive heat exhaustion and irritability. We could survive just about anything. Humble beginnings (LOL).
What's your favorite activity together?
Honestly, just talking and spending quality time together.
Where are you going for your honeymoon?
Anywhere with beautiful beaches! Maybe the Maldives before it goes completely underwater? So far our top picks are South Africa, Bora Bora or Jamicia.
What's the most memorable trip you have taken together?
Our trip to Scottsdale, Arizona. The beautiful mountains, lush resort and spa, and exquisite restaurants made for a wonderful vacation.
What's the best meal you have eaten together?
Our favorite restaurant is Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen. We start with the Shrimp & Crawfish FONDEAUX and Fried Calamari. John's favorite dish is Crawfish Etouffee and my favorite dish is the Shrimp Creole & Grits. Pappadeaux is also known for its delicious cocktails so the Hurricane & " Swamp Thing" are awesome. With great service and food every time we never miss the opportunity to visit when traveling.
How did he propose?
This was actually coordinated with both family and friends. I was just finishing up with midterms and of course, was on a mission to secure a job before graduation. So, I was told by my future mother-in-law that she would be taking me to a networking event, so to look my best and be prepared to wow employers. Well, while waiting for her to pick me up she called me and said she was 5 minutes away. When the doorbell rang, it wasn't my mother-in-law but John. Of course, I was both shocked and intrigued. I had questions but John took my hand and we drove to dinner. Next, we are having a delicious dinner at Iridescence with the Detroit and Canadian skyline in the background. When, it came to dessert & champagne, a plate with beautiful chocolate designs saying " You hold the Key to my Heart" and a diamond necklace in the center came out first. John began expressing his love for me and I began to cry. At that exact moment, I received a phone call from a recruiter and was told I had secured a job with a fortune 500 company. After we finished dessert we began to drive to Canada. John took us to this beautiful park in front of the Detroit River. We were so close you could touch it. As we were talking I turned around and John was down one knee. The rest is history!!! God is truly amazing.

McCarran International airport is the primary airport on the Las Vegas strip. It is literally 5 minutes away from the Tropicana. 15 minutes away from SunCoast Hotel & Casino.
