Story
We met in October 2017 at the Wakefield Family Court when I shadowed Jake on a mini pupillage/internship. We had an immediate connection but never thought it would go anywhere given the professional context and we were unsure we'd see each other again. I then went away on my ski season to Austria and when I got back I started looking for accommodation in Leeds having accepted a place on the Bar course here.
We met for coffee which Jake turned into dinner, although we still weren't sure whether we felt the same way about each other.
Fast forward a few dinners later and we were very much on the same page...
Tidbits
How did Jake propose?
Jake was keen to climb Kilimanjaro and persuaded me to go with him, promising it would be a trip of a lifetime...
So, in September 2022, we packed our very big bags and flew to Tanzania to climb Kilimanjaro.
After 6 days of hiking, and surprisingly only one argument over spilled Percy pigs, we made it to the summit 5,895m above sea level!
We, along with our two guides, were the only ones at the summit to take in the breath taking view of Tanzania and Kenya.
It was the perfect place and view for when Jake got down on one knee and asked me to spend the rest of my life having adventures with him - all captured on Jake's camera as he had tipped the guides off beforehand!
It's fair to say there were a few tears and I think we can all agree that he did a fantastic job choosing the ring and with his romantic and specular proposal!
Afterwards we spent a week relaxing on the beaches of Zanzibar - a perfect end to our trip!

Minibuses
11:30 AM to 1:30 PM
If you are staying at Hazlewood Castle, minibuses will collect you from Hazlewood Castle at 1.00pm and take you to the Church. After the ceremony you will be taken back to Hazlewood Castle for the reception.
Please park at the Castle from 11.30am and leave your bags with reception. Your bags will be taken to your room whilst we are at the Church. Whilst you are waiting for the minibus to take you to the Church, you are welcome to purchase tea/coffee or sandwiches from the Castle.
Ceremony
1:30 PM
We are getting married at Ledsham Church at 2.00pm and ask guests to arrive and be seated for 1.30pm.
If you are not getting the minibus from Hazlewood Castle, please park in Ledsham village.
Reception
3:00 PM to 1:00 AM
We are having our wedding reception at Hazlewood Castle. There will be a wedding breakfast, speeches and dancing in the evening.
The event will finish at 1.00am.
Travel
Stay at Hazlewood Castle & Spa
We have booked Hazlewood Castle exclusively for the night of the wedding (24th August 2024). We are hoping that the majority of our guests will choose to stay the night at the Castle with us and join us for a full English breakfast in the morning.

What should I wear?
Formal (suit and tie and dresses)
Is it okay to take pictures with our phones and cameras during the wedding?
Yes! We would love for you to take photos and share them on our app Joy.
However, please refrain from taking photos during the ceremony.
Where should I park?
There is plenty of free parking at Hazlewood Castle. There is street parking at Ledsham village but it is limited.
Can I bring a date?
Only the guests invited will be able to RSVP. Please get in contact with us if you are unsure who is invited or are having difficulty RSVPing.
Are kids welcome?
As much as we love your little ones, we will not be including them in the ceremony or reception. Please reach out if you have questions!
Is there a gifts registry?
We do not have a gifts registry.
There will be a place to leave cards at the wedding reception.
