Story

Lisa and Jer first met as most modern couples do—as spritely teenagers at camp.
Lisa: One of my earliest memories of Jer is when, following one of these camps, my mother pulled me aside and told me to stay away from the trouble-making punk rock kid sporting long hair and black eyeliner. As you can see, I've chosen to ignore that advice. Sorry mom!
Jer: Our parents being friends meant we'd stayed in each other's orbit over the years, though given our five-year age gap we didn't pay much attention to each other at first. Thirteen years and a handful of relationships later, we found ourselves in overlapping friend circles and began to get to know each other as adults.
Between the many late nights, blurry moments, and meaningful conversations, we began to develop a far more profound connection than our teenage origins originally afforded us.
Lisa: Finally, the stars collided and Jer asked me on a date. Or at least he thought it was a date.
Jer: I invited Lisa to a rave, thinking the warm caress of 150 decibels would make the perfect soil for the planting of first love. Lisa, naturally, assumed this was a platonic hangout like all the others, and promptly invited her best friend, Anna, to join us.
Lisa: Jer was a good sport about it, and agreed she could come along. We then proceeded to ignore Anna entirely as we spent the night talking with our heads locked together to be heard over the music.
Many dates, a startup, a couple career changes, a proposal, and at least one more rave later, and we've arrived at our present moment. We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter of our story with you.
Tidbits
How did you first meet?
At camp!
Who made the first move? How?
Lisa: I was standing outside smoking a cigarette (a rare habit that I've long-since abandoned). Jer pulled the cigarette out of my mouth, said "that's bad for you", and kissed me.
What was your most memorable date?
We drove up to Lake Arrowhead, CA in a blizzard. Halfway up the mountain we weren't sure we were going to make it as cars were slipping off the road and getting stuck in the snow. With some expert driving and a little bit of luck, Jer managed to get us there. We proceeded to spend the weekend locked in a cozy log cabin drinking wine and falling in love.
What's your favorite activity together?
Fun stuff with Jack is at the top of the list!
We also love hiking, traveling, game nights with friends, spending time with family, and laying out a blanket in the park to read under the trees.
Where are you going for your honeymoon?
Italy so Lisa can get in touch with her roots.
What's the best meal you have eaten together?
Very tough call. We've eaten our way through just about every great restaurant in San Diego, and many others in wonderful cities like SF, LA, and NYC. However, few meals compare to a good 2am burger after a sodden night out.
The dorkiest thing about us is
The pet names we give each other. Jer's Australian roots come out to play, and he goes through nicknames like a kid through candy.
We take pride in
Counting each and every one of you as friends.

Getting In
You can either fly in to San Diego International Airport (SAN) or Tijuana International Airport (TIJ). From there, you'll likely want to rent a car and drive the 1.5 hours to Valle De Guadalupe (wine country!)
Driving to the destination
We HIGHLY recommend renting a vehicle as rideshare (Uber, Lyft, etc.) isn't typical in Valle. You can sometimes get a taxi, but you typically need to schedule in advance (we don't suggest this).
Below are several car rental options for Tijuana International Airport (Mexico side) and San Diego (US side).

Where to stay
Valle de Guadalupe doesn't have much in the way of large hotels so your best bet is Airbnb or VRBO. The Valle is peppered with rentals, both large and small. Please make your arrangements as soon as possible for the best rates and availability. Valle de Guadalupe is a popular tourist destination and Airbnbs get booked out pretty far in advance.
