We so value all of you making the trip out to Madrid and, at the risk of sounding trite, your presence is of course our present. Please do not feel obligated to make any kind of further gift.
If, however, you would like to give us a gift we would be very touched if you would consider contributing to our honeymoon fund (see Patchwork link below) and/or to one of our two chosen charities (see JustGiving pages below)
Both of these charities are significant to us and our families and would greatly benefit from donations.
Travel
Getting In
We recommend flying into Adolfo Suárez Madrid–Barajas Airport. There are direct flights straight from London, Paris and most major cities.
The venue is a 30 minute drive from the airport and 30 minutes from central Madrid.
Once you get to the airport, we recommend catching a cab into the city. It's a flat rate of 30 euros and there is a taxi rank right in front of the terminal. It's a 15 - 25 minute drive depending on the terminal you land at.
There is also an option to catch the train and Uber also operates in Madrid.
Q & A
See below for some FAQ. More to come
When is the RSVP deadline?
Please RSVP by 15th April 2022.
What time will everything kick off?
We will start the ceremony at 18:30 so please arrive from 17:45
Are kids welcome?
There are lots of little ones and new arrivals who we haven't had the chance to meet yet. We would love to see them the day before or after the wedding.
Unfortunately, on the day itself we won't be able to accommodate children (exceptions for babes in arms of course). We would be happy to help you find a babysitting service in Madrid.
Please contact either of us directly if this is a problem.
Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?
Weather permitting we hope to have the ceremony, cocktail and dinner outdoors. Dancing will be indoors
What will the weather be like?
Madrid gets hot during the summer. Whilst the wedding will take place in the evening, temperatures could still be between 25 - 30 C so wear light clothing!
Where should I park?
There is space at the venue for you to drive and leave your car there. However, we ask that if you are driving you either designate a sober driver for the way home or get a taxi.
Please be sure to collect your car by 11:30 am at the latest the day after
What should I wear?
Summer dresses and suits/sports jackets and chinos. We will provide plastic heel covers for stilettos however keep in mind much of the evening will take place on grass.
It's likely to be warm and we want you to have the best time, so wear something that makes you feel smart but comfortable.
What kind of shoes should/shouldn't I wear?
The ceremony, dinner and drinks will take place on grass so please take into account when choosing what to wear.
Is it okay to take pictures with our phones and cameras during the wedding?
We will have a photographer to take photos during the ceremony so please sit back and enjoy.
Feel free to take photos before/after the ceremony.
The venue looks familiar - was it in a recent Spanish Netflix hit TV series?
Funny you should ask! Yes - it was featured in "La Casa de Papel" (Money Heist) as the location where the team go to train in series 1
Where should I stay?
Staying outside of Madrid means you may find villas and a pool. The temperature will also be cooler. If you stay in Madrid Keep in mind it will be hot during the day.
The hotel in Torrelodones Hotel PAX Torrelodones is an 8 minute drive from the venue . Call them on +34918406606 or email on Reservas.Torre@Paxhoteles.Com and say that you are coming to our wedding to receive a discounted rate (double room on the Saturday 75€; double room on the Sunday 57€). There are also Airbnbs in the area.
If you stay in the center of Madrid it's less than a 30 mins drive to the venue. You will find a range of hotels and airbnbs, including the recently renovated Ritz for those of you feeling very glamorous. We recommend you try to stay somewhere around the Retiro. It's the main park in Madrid and will mean you are within walking distance from most bars, restaurants and museums you might want to visit.
Taxis in Madrid are also very cheap.
