Story

Their first initial meeting was many moons ago. Jessica was 15 and Dan was 17 years old. Jessica and a couple of her girlfriends (Shannon and Paula) got a job in the snack shop at Hoffmann Lanes Bowling Alley. Dan happened to be working in the Pro Shop at the time and had a couple of his friends working the bowling alley also. We all ended up becoming friends, hanging out, playing pool (Jess learned how to play on Dan’s pool table which now resides in their basement) getting into trouble like setting the Indiana Dunes on 🔥😳😬and having lots of other adventures together.

Dan may have had a crush on Jessica back then, but never acted on it😘. He went to University of Illinois where Jessica and friends would visit on various weekends to party it up college style. But as life goes, they drifted their separate ways with new groups of friends, jobs, experiences, etc.

When Tap House in Palatine opened up, Jessica got a bartending job there. One of the nights, she got to work and Dan was sitting at the bar. It had been years since they had seen each other and nice to catch up. He became a Tap House regular that sometimes would come in with friends that Jessica got to know well, or by himself when Jessica would then sit him with her friends and regulars and he became part of the group. It was like they hand’t missed a beat!

After about three years and some life changes in both their lives, they started hanging out more, and Jessica’s friends and co-workers noticed Dan watching Jessica while she worked. They all liked Dan (of course😜) and voiced to Jessica that she should date Dan😳. It took a bit of time and coaxing but they finally had dinner and wine at Dan’s house. Jessica got introduced to scotch that night, they drank half a bottle and that’s all she wrote and here we are!!! Cow, cow, cow!!!!!!!!

Tidbits

How did you first meet

Working together at Hoffman Lanes bowling alley in Hoffman Estates. Dan was 17 and Jessica was 15.

Who made the first move? How?

Let's just say we had a very nice dinner at Dan's house and some scotch afterwards.😉 Jess blames it on the scotch😬

Who's going to take out the trash?

Dan

What was your most memorable date?

Our first real date. A night in downtown Chicago of good food and rooftop bar hopping.

What's your favorite activity together?

Hopefully golf one day, but for now working out.

Where are you going for your honeymoon?

TBD.

What's the best meal you have eaten together?

We are foodies, so it is difficult to pick. But L'Auberge in Sedona is near the top of the list.

What's the most memorable trip you have taken together?

Costa Rica 2020. It's why all of you are being dragged down there for our special day.

We’re on the same page about

Most things. Having no kids makes that a lot easier.

A life goal of ours

Retirement to a warm climate.

The most spontaneous thing we’ve done

Only one of us is spontaneous, you can guess who that is.

The dorkiest thing about us is

We answer these questions.

We are regulars at

Taphouse, if you don't know that you shouldn't be coming to Costa Rica. 😂

We take pride in

Our friends being our family and our home being open and welcoming to all.

Getting In

We recommend that you arrive in Costa Rica by January 3rd, or latest by the 4th. Jessica and I will be traveling on the 2nd. The wedding is going to be Friday night the 5th. We will be sending out more information on potential flights as they become available in the coming weeks. The closest international airport is Liberia (airport code LIR) and is 1.25 hours from Tamarindo. All of the major airlines will have flights into Liberia, but you will need to connect. United through Houston, American through Dallas or Miami, Delta through Atlanta will all have similar pricing and times on flights. Southwest will offer flights from Midway through Houston as well. However, Southwest only allows you to book out 6 months or so in advance, so it will be some time before pricing and availability on those flights can be seen. There will be a hotel transfer for an additional fee to take you to and from the airport.

We suggest if you are planning on making this a big vacation, take a couple of days before or after to stay in the rain forest. It’s amazing and you won’t be disappointed. Also, a lot of the excursions are in the rain forest. We have drivers that we used to take us between destinations that we can hook you up with. You do not want to rent a car and drive yourself. You’ll get lost. Let us know if you’re planning on doing this and we’ll give you their info.

We are getting a block of rooms that will be discounted from the 2nd to the 8th. As soon as we get the link we’ll post it so you can put your deposit down.

Hotel Product

Tamarindo Diria, Calle Central, Guanacaste Province, Tamarindo, Costa Rica

We will share information on our room blocks once we finalize. Our discounted rates will be for the 2nd through the 8th. There will be a booking code we will share and a link so you can book your rooms. The room rates are $247 per night and that includes a free buffet breakfast each morning.

Q & A

For all our friends and family who have lots of questions, please check out our Q & A first!

When is the RSVP deadline?

Please RSVP by April 1st

Can I bring a date?

We politely request to talk to us if you would like to bring someone not on the official invite list. Our goal is to have a small vacation with our closest friends. Thank you for your consideration on this matter.

Are kids welcome?

NO!!!! This is your opportunity to take a break from being a parent and enjoy some quality time with each other and adult fun with friends. Please respect our decision on this.

What will the weather be like?

The weather in Tamarindo at this time of year could not be nicer. It is near the equator and this is the dry season. Expect sunny days in the low 80s and gorgeous evenings. And one of the most wonderful sunsets you will ever experience.

What should I wear?

Our wedding will be right next to the beach, so beach wedding attire is perfectly fine.

Is it okay to take pictures with our phones and cameras during the wedding?

Do you know Jessica??? Of course..

Whom should I call with questions?

Please call Dan or Jessica with any questions.
