Our Story
Jessie side - When I first met Billie, I knew she was brilliant. Not just funny, and adorable - but she was kind and spoke to/charmed everyone. We met in Camden for our first date, and then a museum for our second. After the second date, I realised I may have met someone I truly connect with - mostly because we were both very competitive about a card game. After that, I found Billie mesmerising - I was excited (and still am) to learn more about her. We spent the next few months, pretty much hip to hip and that never really changed...
Billie side - I was super nervous meeting Jess for our first date but she instantly blew me away. Jess is an old school romantic and gave me her jacket at the end of our date to make sure I saw her a second time. She also kept beating me at card games with a smug look, so that's why I went back for a third date. The more I spent time with Jess the more in love I fell and now I can't wait to spend my life with her.
Titbits
How did you first meet?
See Our Story!
Who made the first move? How?
Jess made the first move and will hear no word against it.
Jess is a liar and cannot accept that Billie made the first move.
What was your most memorable date?
Jessie - Billie took me to the London Planetarium, after we first started seeing each other. It was really lovely to me because I've always wanted to go, and she remembered. It was nice having someone to do that for me. We also then played a card game in a pub with her best friend and I won, so that made it the cherry on top.
Billie - Jess took me on a mini trip to be a goat farmer. It was every bit as insane and brilliant as it sounds. I have this incredibly vivid memory of Jess and I standing in the middle of this field, shaking a bag of carrots and watching over 150 goats come charging towards us. One of the most brilliant dates ever!
What's your favorite activity together?
Chaos?
We play lots of board games together, however we're not allowed to play competitive games as it turns into a battle.
What's the best meal you have eaten together?
Jessie - I would probably say either the mushrooms on toast in Wales in 2020, my bruschetta for our 3rd anniversary dinner or the banoffee pie in the cafe we had once.
Billie - I would probably say the mushrooms on toast we went back for in 2021 (the only reason I drove back to wales) or when Jess cooked me a three course meal for the first time (I still have the menu she printed out for it)
What's the most memorable trip you have taken together?
Jessie - We had a really lovely trip to Brighton years ago, and it was with my parents and I remember looking at Billie and knowing that she connected all the dots in my life and made me happier than I thought I could be.
Billie - I took Jess 'camping' (it was glamping) once. Jess is normally the more 'protective' one of us, but as soon as we get into any form of woodland territory I take over! I was able to show off my firebuilding and wood chopping skills and had Jess be the damsel in distress. I now drag her camping regularly for this reason.
The most spontaneous thing we’ve done
France? Bought the car? Bought a house...? Got a cat? Rescued 2 cats from a tree? Went on Bargain hunt? Bought a condom machine? Could be anything.
Teach us something about
Jess - all mammals on average have 80 million heart beats across their life time (apart from humans who reach that by 25 years usually)
Billie - Beehives are made with tiny little corridors so that bee's can travel between frames.
FAQ
For all our friends and family who have lots of questions, please check out our Q & A first!
When is the RSVP deadline?
Please RSVP by the latest 30th June 2022 so we can have accurate numbers and requirements for the caterer. If you can confirm earlier though that would be fab!
What should I wear?
Formal (summer) wedding, please! Suits (blazers, tie and/or waistcoat), dresses, jumpsuits etc are all dandy. We only ask you don't wear a white dress, or a baby blue/green suit (or joggers)
If you're not sure you can ask!
Are the ceremony and reception locations wheelchair accessible?
Yes :) There are disabled toilets access at both the reception and ceremony.
Will there be alcohol?
Yeah! We will be providing beer, cider, wine (red, white & rose), and soft drinks of course!
Billie has made special homemade wedding mead for us all to toast our marriage with <3
As all the alcohol will be free, we will have a honeymoon tip box if you want to donate the price of a pint to us so we can have a cheeky pint on our honeymoon from you.
If you want something very specific, feel free to BYOB.
Is it okay to take pictures with our phones and cameras during the wedding?
Yes of course, we love photos. There will be a professional photographer, so please be mindful of them and do not block their shots. We want you to enjoy the day and the moment.
Please make sure if you do take pictures during the ceremony you do not block the view of others.
How will food and drinks be served?
We will be serving Pie and Mash school dinner style, each table called up to collect their dinner and we will all eat together. This is going to be 2 pie 2 mash with the choice of liquor or gravy (if you aren't from East London and unfamilar with this - it is excellent food and you will love it).
In the evening, we will have a brick lane bagels platters to soak up some of the Billies mead and give everyone a bit of an energy push for karaoke. There will also be some pub-style snacks around.
Please make sure you have told us of any dietary needs via the RSVP so we can tell the cater accordingly. If you have any questions about the food, please ask one of us.
Alcohol will be serve yourself style. There will be kegs of cider & beer, bottles of wine, some spirits and soft drinks. As this is a serve yourself style; we are asking everyone to pace themselves as there will be enough alcohol for everyone for the day. Essentially, don't spill beer, or steal all the wine
Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?
Our wedding reception will be both. There is an enclosed garden as well as a hall and we will have a few games in the garden area to play if the weather permits but most of the entertainment will be in the hall.
Where should I park?
There is free parking at both venues. The reception has a free car park for around 15 cars - please keep this in mind.
Is there a gifts registry?
If you would like to gift us something you can send us:
- Your favourite recipe (we are creating a cookbook from this)
- Your favourite record on Vinyl
or of course, if you want to keep your secret recipe or have a terrible taste in music - you can gift some spare change for our honeymoon (road trip around Ireland) so we can think of you as we (Billie) drive around the Emerald Isle. paypal.me/BillandJess22
Will last names be changing after the wedding?
Yes :) We will become Mrs. Sayce-Boyd
Is there WIFI at the venue?
You know it.
Can I bring a date?
Please check your invite for your +1 We're unable to accommodate everyone as we're having to be strict on numbers still due to COVID restrictions in both the ceremony & reception venue.
