Story
Tidbits
How did you first meet?
We met online
Who made the first move? How?
Unclear. Jim maintains it was him, but Lyn refuses to adhere to heteronormative roles, and maintains that she made the first move. Who cares though. Moves were made, now we're getting married, and that means more moves will be made soon
What was your most memorable date?
The most memorable was by far our second date when we both forgot to pay and walked out. The accidental dine and dash was soon fixed once Lyn texted Jim thanking him for paying because she completely forgot, but little did she know, so did he. He called and gave the bartender his credit card info and apologized A LOT!
What's your favorite activity together?
We really enjoy pouring over a good book together outdoors on a nice day.
What's the best meal you have eaten together?
Jim is skilled in the kitchen and continues to wow Lyn with each new meal he makes. However, the best meal was Valentines day 2019 when he first worked his magic for her. If you want to know more just ask Lyn about the polenta

Are kids welcome?
As much as we love your little ones, we will not be including them in the ceremony or reception. If you need help finding a childcare provider in the area let us know.
What will the weather be like?
For all of you out of towners the weather here in Wilmington is pretty normal. We expect a warm sunny day. Please do note our wedding and reception will be held indoors so rain or shine we are sure to have a good time!
Where should I park?
There is ample parking at both the Church and our Reception venue
Are the ceremony and reception locations wheelchair accessible?
Absolutely, we want everyone to be able to enjoy the day!
What should I wear?
Whatever you are comfortable in, but we do ask that you try your best to be semi formal
Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?
Both our wedding and reception will be held indoors.
Is it okay to take pictures with our phones and cameras during the wedding?
We ask that you refrain from taking photos during the wedding but please feel free to take some after the ceremony and at the reception.
Whom should I call with questions?
Leading up to the wedding, Jim or Lyn. Day of, please do not call us. Call Seth (302)757-6950 or Katie (434)327-9209
Will you live stream your ceremony?
Yes you can stream it here:
Are masks required? Will they be provided?
The mask mandate has been lifted in Delaware for people who have received the COVID vaccine. With that in mind, Brandywine Valley Baptist Church is no longer enforcing any mask requirements but are asking each individual and family to be responsible for their own health decisions, considerate of state health guidance and mindful of the convictions of your fellow church family members and guests.
Ed Oliver's Golf club will also not be enforcing masks for individuals who have vaccinated.
We encourage you to do whatever is best for you, based on your current vaccination status and personal convictions
Will you have babysitters on the premises?
It is doubtful that we will have babysitters.
What time should I arrive?
Please try and arrive 10-15 minutes prior to the start of the wedding so you can get situated and enjoy everything
Is there transportation being provided between reception and hotels?
No
Will I get a chance to take professional photos with the couple?
If your last name is Doyle, Myers, Vogler, Stein, Bacino, or Howard (immediate family/aunts, uncles, and cousins) or if you are part of the bridal party or the Special Brownies, yes. Otherwise, probably not, but you are more than welcome to get pictures with us at the reception!
I have a question not answered here; how do I contact you?
You can call Jim or Lyn or email Jim at jimdoyle@udel.edu or lyn@urbanpromise.org
