Story
It was a hot summer day in Sparta, New Jersey and an intense basketball game was underway at a 7th grade birthday party. Two of the attendees thought they were each the best player at the party. Only one could prevail...these same two kids were also the most relentless, attention-seeking and competitive at the party. After a game to eleven, Joe had proven victorious over Emily as she stormed off never to speak to Joe again. Until...
Emily was a Sophomore and Joe was a Freshman at Sparta High School when their paths crossed for a second time. Except this time, instead of a competitive game of basketball in a driveway, it was the incredibly awkward game of flirting which neither of them were too well versed in. Joe asked, "So ummm...you wanna go out?" to which Emily replied, "That's how you're going to ask me?" as she turned around and proceeded to get on her bus. To this day, Joe still has no clue if she ever technically said yes.
Tidbits
Who made the first move? How?
Emily made the first move. It was during the post apocalyptic, horrible movie, Doomsday.
What was your most memorable date?
Emily was leaving to go back to college and it was the last night her and Joe were going to be able to spend time together. Unfortunately, Emily had a bad cold, and thought a tablespoon of hot sauce would clear the sinuses. What she did not know, what that Mr. P had the hottest hot sauce known to man. She spent the next 45 minutes throwing up on the Parella's front lawn. Joe would not let Emily drive back alone so he drove her back to Alpine Trail. Needless to say, they did not have the romantic last night that was planned.
What's the best meal you have eaten together?
Every year one our anniversary we like to celebrate with a meal at Pascal and Sabine.
What's the most memorable trip you have taken together?
The most memorable trip we have taken so far, was to the Dominican Republic. Emily immediately won the swim contest before even checking into our room. Joe serenaded a couple celebrating their honeymoon with the song, "Let's Get it On" during karaoke. They had their first children 9 months after...just saying...
