Travel notes....
- With a summer wedding we are expecting accommodation to be busy within the town. Please book early!!! The town itself is a popular location for Stag and Hen do's and holidaymakers alike.
- You will find a selection of hotel ideas below that we found when we searched Google. Some are close to the reception venue and some are further out of town.
- You will also find other properties on booking.com and Air BNB. For groups willing to share it might be good value to seek a rental property together.
- The journey time from Carrick-on-Shannon to St. Josephs Church, Cloonloo is around 25 minutes.
**Please allow for this on the morning of the wedding if staying locally.**
- Google is accurate with directions from the addresses listed in the schedule.
- There are plenty of shops, petrol stations and other services in Carrick on Shannon should you need anything.

Q & A
For all our friends and family who have lots of questions, please check out our Q & A first!
What will the weather be like?
Welcome to Ireland! The country where you can experience four seasons in a day. We are doing the best we can to ensure good weather by having our special day in July but please ensure you bring a coat just in case we are let down. If you are a redhead like the groom, you may even need some sunscreen!
Where should I park?
There is plenty of free parking near St. Josephs Church and the hotel in Carrick-on-Shannon at the side and rear car park.
Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?
Our wedding ceremony is indoors and the reception also. There may be an opportunity for outdoor wedding photographs as allowed and weather dependent. At the reception there is an outdoor covered smoking area.
Do you have a wedding gift list?
We don't!
Having you there to share our special day is all we could ask for.
Any wedding cards brought on the day can be given to Best Man - Nick Trump who will look after them for us.
Is it okay to take pictures with our phones and cameras during the wedding?
Yes! We would love for you to take photos and share them on our app which you can download through this website or your invite. Alternatively you can send them to us on Whatsapp or via email to johnandann2022@gmail.com
**We would ask that you refrain from sharing photos of us on social media, we will upload some after the wedding, but please feel free to post any others you like as you enjoy the day**
How will food and drinks be served?
After the ceremony there will drinks and sandwiches for all in the Church hall at St. Josephs. On arrival at the Landmark Hotel there will be welcome drinks and snacks followed by the wedding banquet. In the evening there will be a buffet around 10pm and late night pizzas around 2am for the last guests standing!
Will you live stream your ceremony?
At this time we have no plans to do so, however if you are unable to attend and we are able to provide this option we will do so.
What if I have a dietary restriction?
If you have any dietary requirements please highlight these through your RSVP
Is there transportation being provided between reception and hotels?
No transport is planned. The Church is around 25 minutes from the reception location in Carrick on Shannon and is easily navigated on good roads using Google maps or similar for those unfamiliar with the area.
I am coming from out of town. Where should I stay?
Please see the travel section for a list of available accommodation in Carrick-on-Shannon. The Landmark hotel will have some availability but there are various accommodation providers to suit all tastes within easy reach of the hotel and indeed further out of town for anyone driving. Local taxi's will also be available.
What should/could I do between the ceremony and the reception?
There will be food and drinks provided immediately after the ceremony whilst photographs are being taken etc. Our advice after that is to head into Carrick-on-Shannon towards the Landmark hotel and enjoy the summers day or visit one of the many local pubs for a long cool drink. There are also plenty of shops / service stations in Carrick should anyone need any last minute items.
What time will the reception end?
The reception will end around 0300hrs or after with drinks service provided in the private residents bar. Stay as late as you wish, but you'd be missing out if you didn't taste the late night pizzas around 2am!
I need a taxi at the end of the night - who do i call?
Please contact reception within the hotel who should be able to assist with providing local numbers. We cannot provide any guarantees around taxi companies or indeed the chances of getting one. We have however we have found these on Google and would recommend calling and pre-booking if required.
