Attire is summer formal

What kind of shoes should/shouldn't I wear?

Plane

Getting there by plane

Contrary to popular belief, Walla Walla does have an airport! Alaska Airlines has a quick and easy flight from Seattle to Walla Walla Regional (ALW)

Some hotels offer complimentary shuttles to/from as it is a quick 10 minute drive to downtown. Uber and taxi service is also available.

Car

Getting there by car

Walla Walla is approx. 260 miles SE of Seattle, near the Oregon border, an approx. 4.5 hours drive via I-90 E.

Getting to Eritage: There are two routes to Eritage - each about a 10 minute drive from downtown. We recommend that smaller vehicles take HWY 125 North and turn right on Bergevin Springs Road. Guests with SUVs may take the mile-long gravel road off Lower Waitsburg Road if they wish. FYI – Google Maps indicates Bergevin Springs Road is Russell Springs Road. Parking is available onsite.

Story

Like any good twenty-somethings in 2015, we originally met on Hinge, and after some chatting Kurt asked me on a date (which I ghosted - whoops). We then met in person a year later while visiting the college we had both attended (yet never met at), and went on our first date because Kurt supposedly had my missing Coug hat from that weekend (he didn't). So in all honesty, I'm just lucky Kurt is one determined guy....

Kurt: On September 21st, 2019, we boarded a ferry to Bainbridge Island with our friends under the guise of going wine tasting. After the surprise proposal in front of the Seattle skyline and about 100 strangers, we went to our first wine tasting spot where Julia was surprised yet again by our family and friends and a rooftop engagement party. It's safe to say the proposal was a success!

We chose Walla Walla as our wedding destination because it combined many of the things we love - good wine, good food, beautiful views - with our shared Eastern Washington roots. We are so excited to celebrate with you and look forward to seeing you in September!

Q&A

Who made the first move? How?

Kurt did - third times a charm

What was your most memorable date?

Our first date - we missed our ferry by about 3 minutes and had to scramble for an alternative. Plan B ended up being a 5 hour "dinner" where neither of us actually ate anything

What's your favorite activity together?

Traveling, skiing, finding new restaurants to try. We also have an ongoing Gin Rummy scoreboard in Kurt's phone notes and that could either be our most or least favorite activity depending on who you are talking to and what the current score is

Where are you going for your honeymoon?

Iceland and Greece!

What's the best meal you have eaten together?

Anything we ate in Japan - literally. (Kurt's answer was Big Al's Hotdogs outside of Safeco field but Julia nixed that one)

What's the most memorable trip you have taken together?

We have been lucky enough to travel quite a bit so this one is hard. Our first trip abroad together was Germany, Italy, Austria and the Netherlands which was definitely memorable. However, our favorite trip is probably our annual Whistler, BC ski trip with friends!

Who's going to take out the trash?

Kurt: Me.
Julia: Honestly, probably Kurt
