Story
We first met at the beginning of high school from a mutual friend (Iris Au) whom Justin met over a scout summer camping trip. Rose and Iris attended the same arts program at Unionville High School, and Justin attended Whitefield Christian Collegiate in Scarborough. What started as a fun friendship built on mutual interests and hobbies deepened over the next four years as we both grew in our Christian faith, sharing heart-to-heart conversations about life and hopes for the future.
By the end of high school, Rose was going to the University of Waterloo, and Justin was going to McGill University in Montreal. It was now or never to start a relationship, and we decided to give it a shot! Right outside of a Walmart at Scarborough Town Centre in 2015, an unscripted, awkward high school confession kicked off the next chapter of our lives together.
Admittedly, it was not easy to manage a long-distance relationship over our university studies, followed immediately by a pandemic which threw our life plans out the window. However, God has been showing us how to love each other deeper, put each other first, and compassionately point each other back to Christ. We thank all the caring friends, family, and brothers and sisters in Christ who have journeyed with us in our relationship, and we are so excited for you to join us on our special day!
