How did we fall in love you ask? Well take a seat and get ready for this story!
Episode Title: “The One where KayDianna & Eric become each other’s Lobsters”
God truly had our paths paved in such a unique and detailed way for us to meet up the way we did. Now do we both have the same story tell?? Not. At. All! A few similarities here and there but we definitely have different points of view!
KD’s POV:
Freshman year of college, I felt an absence on campus. Growing up volunteering, I missed being able to work with kids. One day, one of my professors introduced me to a gentleman named, Tyler Fisher, who is Eric’s Man of Honor by the way! Tyler interviewed me for a leadership program where we would be mentoring kids. Little did I know the student director that Tyler would introduce me to would end up being my future husband. That is just the beginning though.
To be completely honest, when I first met Eric I thought he was super cute but never seeing him as more than a friend (funny how God works). I had a formal coming up and was in desperate need for a date! Ironically, I asked one of Eric’s friends to go with me, knowing where Eric’sfeelings were, he politely declined and suggested that I asked Eric! Later I found out Eric told his friend to tell me to take him instead! With the formal days away, I asked Eric to go to formal with me! So I guess you can say I asked him out first! After formal, I knew Eric was unlike any other guy I met and yet I still viewed him as a friend because I swore he didn’t like me hahaha! But after a few months of Eric supposedly flirting with me, us talking all through Christmas break, and my mom and friends asking me if Eric and I were a thing yet…he finally asked me out on a real date and the rest is history! I couldn’t have asked God for a better future husband!
Eric’s POV:
KD and I both love food and working with kids, so it’s no surprise one of our first conversations ever centered around the homemade cake at the dessert table one of our program leaders made for our end of year TCU LeaderKids banquet. It’s amazing how God works b/c that day he planted a seed that wouldn’t get watered until months later when I got to go as KD’s date to her Showformal. We went as friends, but little did we know that our relationship had truly just begun. She had a contagiously happy personality that I was very attracted to. I traveled to Canada over that year’s winter break and decided I wanted to bring her back something to let her know she was on my mind, aside from us talking every day during that time too. I returned from Canada with her special maple syrup in a leaf-shaped bottle (which she still has). After a few more days and weeks of talking, I worked up the courage to ask her if she’d like to go on a date! The rest is history.
And that’s our story. We can’t wait for all the chapters that lie ahead.
