Each year we take turns planning celebrations for Valentine's Day and our anniversary. Kelly's favorite was when Eric surprised her with a half-day river rafting trip down the French Broad River from Marshall to Hot Springs, NC. Eric's favorite was when Kelly surprised him with a trip to the Escalante River Canyon in southern Utah with a romantic stay at Kiva Kottage.

We love being outdoors together, whether that's mountain biking, hiking, or paddleboarding in the beautiful Western North Carolina mountains that we call home, or discovering a new mountain town.

We are saving up for a trip in the summer of 2024! Possibly a few days in the "City of Lights" followed by catching a couple of stages of the Tour de France.

We've had so many magical meals together! While we enjoy treating ourselves to some of the amazing restaurants in Asheville, the most memorable meals have been around campfires after a long day playing in the woods and in our backyard among family and friends.

When we lived in Utah, we went on so many amazing camping trips. If we had to pick a favorite, it would be our 9-day road trip to the Pacific Northwest. We went on one of the best mountain bike rides ever in McKenzie Bridge, saw the iconic Oregon coast, got close to the Canadian boarder searching for a dispersed camping spot in the dark, and ate some wicked good clam chowdah in Seattle.

Chickens. Humans. Nature. (Most) music. Great food. Family + friends.

Moved to Utah! Kelly had just accepted a job in Birmingham, AL and we were apartment searching. We flew out to UT for 2 nights for Eric's job interview and were blown away by the mountains and desert. As soon as Eric got a job offer, we packed the moving truck and hit the road!

We named our chickens after old lady names from each of their breed's country of origin.
