Our Story

We knew each other from a far for a couple of years since we went to the same church. I would say I first noticed him during our friend's wedding in 2020. We were paired to dance together at the wedding and I thought to myself he is kinda cute. According to him he didn't feel any spark until after the wedding but I don't believe him. I think he liked me too from the wedding but could not admit to it.

A few weeks after the wedding, this beautiful girl kept coming to my mind. I could not shake it off so I eventually approached her in the DM's. It started off as a simple chat to check how her driving test went and from there we hit it off. We moved from one hour phone calls to seven hour calls very quickly. Two months after chatting with her I asked her to be my girlfriend. In typical Thoko fashion, she made me wait for almost half a day before she could give me a response.

I knew from the first day I approached her that she was going to be my wife. A few months after our one year anniversary I asked her to spend the rest of her life with me and she said yes.

Tidbits

How did you first meet?

See Our Story! Check out our shared moments for pictures from the wedding where me met.

Who made the first move? How?

He made the first move when he came to my inbox to strike a conversation about my driving school test. After a few chats he asked me out on our first date

What was your most memorable date?

We spent one of our first dates taking a walk together and sharing our dreams and goals. On that day, we found out we valued the same things and had the same vision for the future.

What's your favorite activity together?

We love taking walks together and talking about our future plans.

Where are you going for your honeymoon?

Anywhere with beautiful beaches and nice views! No, we wont tell you where ;)

What's the best meal you have eaten together?

We enjoy chips and pork from Bwandilo a whole lot!

We’re on the same page about

Our love for Jesus and the house of God.

A life goal of ours

To know Jesus and to love His people

Something you ddnt know about us

A year before we officially met, I randomly saved a picture of her in my phone from her whatsapp status. It was weird because I had not seen her in years and barely knew her. After a few hours of keeping the picture in my phone I deleted it and tried to forget the whole incident.

Your presence is enough of a present to us! But for those of you who are stubborn, we've put together a wish-list to help you out.

Q & A

For all our friends and family who have lots of questions, please check out our Q & A first!

What should I wear?

Please see our Schedule for the dress code.

Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?

Our wedding ceremony is indoors, but our reception will be outdoors :)

What kind of shoes should/shouldn't I wear?

Calling all ladies! Do not wear stiletto heels. I repeat, do not wear stiletto heels. There are a bunch of grassy/dirt areas that you might have to walk in so wear chunky heels or sandals. Can't have any of you ruining nice shoes or breaking any ankles.

Is it okay to take pictures with our phones and cameras during the wedding?

Yes! We would love for you to take photos and share them on our app Joy.
However, please refrain from taking photos during the ceremony.

Whom should I call with questions?

Please call our lovely maid of honor
