Travel & Accomm

Plane

Getting to Italy

We recommend flying into Naples Airport. Currently, Jet2, Tui, Easyjet and Ryanair all operate direct flights to Naples from Glasgow and Edinburgh. The bride and groom, with some of the wedding party, are flying from Glasgow to Naples on 20th September on Tui flight number TOM1544 departing at 0725. You can check if this flight is still currently available to book for those who wish to.

Note

Getting from Naples Airport to Sorrento

There are a few ways to get into Sorrento from Naples airport, we have listed these below with their pros and cons.

Naples International Airport (NAP), Viale F. Ruffo di Calabria, 80144 Napoli, Italy

Taxi

By Bus

The Curreri Viaggi Bus runs directly from Naples Airport main Bus Station (this can be found a little further up from the Alibus stop, about 5-minute walk from the airport terminal) to Sorrento train station. The cost is €10 and tickets can be bought online.

Times can vary but usually run about every two hours. The bus arrives 10 minutes before it’s departure and will not wait. So, make sure you have plenty of time from your flight arrival to get to the bus station and on the bus before it departs.

Pros: Cheap and easy to use
Cons: The buses can fill up very quickly so we would advise to buy tickets in advance

Train

By Train

To do this, you will first have to use the public bus service from Naples Airport. The Alibus station is directly in front of the Airport terminal, a short walk up the main road and they run approximately 20 minutes to the Stazione Centrale. Alternatively, you can continue on the bus to Beverello/Stazione Marittima (the main ferry port).

You can buy Alibus ticket also at the airport, at the vending machines located on the ground floor of the arrivals area. You can also buy the tickets on the bus. The tickets purchased on board the Alibus are €4. Tickets purchased at an authorised agent prior to boarding the Alibus are €3. Travel time is around 30 minutes to the train station, depending on traffic.

Pros: Cheapest way
Cons: Very busy, no luggage space, no toilets and generally no AC, also be careful of pick pockets on this train

The train to Sorrento can be taken from Garibaldi Station (Stazione Centrale). There are two trains you can choose from, Circumvesuviana or the Campania Express. The Circumvesuviana is the public train and it runs every 30 minutes. The journey time is approx 75 - 90 mins depending on which train that you get. The cost is €4.20 for a one-way ticket and be sure to get this before boarding the train. The Campania Express is a private service that was introduced to connect Naples to Sorrento and the historical sites. This train is not as frequent, but the journey time is much quicker (approx. 45 mins). It costs €15 for a one-way ticket.

Pros: One of the cheapest ways to travel, less crowded, you are more likely to get a seat and there are spaces for luggage
Cons: Expect queues at the Circumvesuviana bus stop and not much space on the bus as they can get very busy within the peak season, space for luggage is limited

Ferry

By Ferry

The ferries run from Beverello Port. There are many different ferry operators running to and from Sorrento so times may vary. You can find a list of options online, please find website link in useful links below.

Pros: Arrive by Sea, the journey time is only 45 minutes but you must consider the journey to the port and at the other end.
Cons: The ferry brings you into Marina Piccola Sorrento. The walk from here to the main square, Piazza Tasso, is all up a very steep hill or flights of stairs which can be quite difficult in the heat. There is a there is a lift (€1.20) but you must walk approx. 5 mins to get to it past the bathing platforms on a narrow pathway. The lift will take you to Villa Comunale (Cloisters of San Francesco) then consider the walk to your accommodation from there.

Taxi

By Car

You can also arrange a private transfer with coast drivers who will pick you up directly from arrivals at the airport. We are currently negotiating discounted rates so let us know if you would like further details.

Pros: Travel in comfort and see the coastline. This is a door-to-door service so they will drop you directly at your booked accommodation.
Cons: This may be the most expensive of the transport options but you can book for 2 - 8 people per car.

Our wedding planner has a relationship with Coast Drivers who provide airport and train station transfers. For 1-3 people the cost is €150 and for 4-7 people €175. You may be able to find other providers at better rates however if you wish to book Coast Drivers please email Cat at admin@weddingplannersorrento.co.uk and she can assist.

Useful to note - taxis are expensive in Sorrento, starting at €15 just for stepping inside the car.

Q & A

For all our friends and family who have lots of questions, please check out our Q & A first!

When is the RSVP deadline?

Please RSVP by 1st June 2024 so we have an accurate headcount for our venue.

Are kids welcome?

As much as we love your little ones, we kindly request a child free wedding with the exception of children of immediate family. We hope you're able to take this time to relax and let your hair down!

What will the weather be like?

The average day time high temperature is between 21°C to 25°C. The average night time low temperature is between 14°C to 18°C. Please bring an extra layer for the evening just in case. As with all weather, this is unpredictable but we're hopeful for beautiful sunny days!

What should I wear?

Please see our Schedule for the dress codes.

Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?

Our wedding ceremony is outdoors, but our reception will be weather dependant. We would suggest bringing a light jacket for night time just in case!

Is it okay to take pictures with our phones and cameras during the wedding?

We are so excited that you'll be joining us and we want you to relax and be fully present for our ceremony. We have a wonderful photographer who will capture every moment, and we'll make sure you see those photos as soon as we do! With this in mind, we ask that you refrain from photos and videos during the ceremony and for the reception? Go wild! There will be QR codes around for you to upload your snaps for us to see!

Will there be transport provided on the wedding day?

Yes, there will be a bus leaving Hotel Conca Park at 12.55pm to take our guests to the Museo Correale di Terranova for the ceremony. This bus is for all of our wedding guests and not just those who are staying at Conca Park. If you aren’t staying at Conca Park, just head to the hotel lobby for 12.55pm. Remember, don’t be late- that’s the brides job!

Can I bring a plus 1?

We're so excited to celebrate this day with our nearest and dearest and are hoping to keep the guestlist limited. So unless they are specifically named on the invitation, we kindly ask you not to bring a guest. Thank you so much for understanding!

Are there any colors that guests should avoid wearing?

No white please (Cathy Hosie - this means you!)

If I didn't have any travel arranged when I RSVP'd, am I able to update my RSVP with my flight and accommodation details at a later date?

Yes! If you need to update your RSVP, please revisit the homepage and click on the RSVP button again. If you have previously RSVP’d on the website, then you might see a “You Are Attending” or “You Are Not Attending” button in place of the RSVP button, click on this. You should then see an option to edit your previous response. If not, then you will just need to enter the same name and email address as you did the first time you RSVP’d, into the RSVP form. You can then choose to edit your previous responses or the responses for any plus ones as well, by clicking on the ‘Edit’ button to the right of the guest name. Then, click on ‘Submit Your RSVP‘ once you’re done editing.

Who can I contact with any other questions?

If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact either of us! You will receive all updates by email once you have RSVP'd on the website.
