Travel + Accommodations
October is a busy season in San Francisco! Our wedding weekend also falls on a big city event called Fleet Week. We recommend making your arrangements as soon as possible for the best rates and availability.
Getting In
We recommend flying into San Francisco International Airport (SFO).
Oakland International Airport (OAK) and San Jose International Airport (SJC) are also both within a 1 hour drive of San Francisco.
Getting Downtown
There are lots of ways to get to downtown from SFO. Bart is convenient and will take you straight into downtown from the airport. Lyft and Uber are also available. Note that for domestic flights, Lyft and Uber pick up from the parking garage, and for international flights, they pick up from Departures.
The Laurel Inn - JDV by Hyatt, Presidio Avenue, San Francisco, CA, USA
This is where we are having our hotel block, with a limited number of rooms available at a discount. Please use the link below to book! (Group Code 134015)
One of our favorite bakeries, b. patisserie, is located just down the block from The Laurel Inn. It's also within a few blocks of Lover's Lane in the Presidio, one of our favorite places to walk in the city. The wedding venue is just a 12 minute drive or a direct bus ride from The Laurel Inn.

Our Story
In Spring 2016, Kimberly booked Max's Airbnb in Hong Kong when they were both living abroad in Asia. They found out they had a lot in common. For starters, they were both Christian, they both went to the same university, they both grew up in San Jose, and their parents both lived in the Bay Area. But Max had a trip scheduled during Kimberly's stay at his Airbnb, so they only met briefly.
When Kimberly was scheduled to fly back to China, she missed her flight. As she was trying to figure out what to do next, Max's return flight was landing. He immediately called her, hoping she was still in Hong Kong so they could grab lunch before she left. It turned out as they were talking to each other on the phone, they were also standing right behind each other in baggage claim. That night, they went on their first date and the rest is history!

FAQ
Where should I park?
There is metered parking in Fort Mason as well as street parking near the neighborhood. Please remember not to leave any valuables or bags in your cars.
Expect the neighborhood to be busy that day! We strongly encourage taking public transportation or using a ride-hailing service.
What should I wear?
Dress code is semi-formal to formal.
Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?
The wedding ceremony and reception will be indoors. Cocktail hour will be outdoors.
What will the weather be like?
San Francisco is beautiful in October. It's forecasted to be in the mid 80s (around 28°C) during the day, but it will likely get breezy and chilly during evening, especially by the water. We recommend wearing layers.
Are the ceremony and reception locations wheelchair accessible?
Yes! All locations are wheelchair accessible and have no stairs.
What's for dinner?
We'll be serving paellas and assorted tapas for dinner.
What if I have a dietary restriction?
We will have vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free options. However, if you have a specific dietary restriction or allergy, please reach out to us directly at kimboandmax@gmail.com
Is it okay to take pictures with our phones and cameras during the wedding?
We ask that you refrain from taking photos and using your cell phone during the ceremony. Thank you!
What should/could I do between the ceremony and the reception?
We will have a cocktail hour with drinks and appetizers on the patio next to the venue. However, please feel free to walk around Fort Mason and enjoy the scenery and views of the Golden Gate Bridge!
Can I bring a date?
Please check your RSVP regarding plus ones.
Are kids welcome?
We love your little ones! However, we unfortunately will not be able to accommodate children due to space restrictions. We recognize that some of you will be traveling with your kids, so if you cannot find accommodations for them, please reach out, as we may be coordinating childcare for during the ceremony.
We are excited to welcome infants below 1 year old. Please let us know if you are planning to bring your baby and if they will need a high chair during the reception (send us an e-mail at kimboandmax@gmail.com). We can't wait to see them!
Is San Francisco safe?
Unfortunately, car break-ins are not uncommon in San Francisco. While the city is generally safe, we strongly recommend not leaving any bags, boxes, or valuables inside your vehicle, including in the glove box or in the trunk. If you have any items that need to be stored, we will have storage available in the venue.
I am coming from out of town. Where should I stay?
We recommend the Laurel Inn. See or Travel + Accommodations section for details.
I have a question not answered here; how do I contact you?
