Story
It was July 2004 when we first met each other. We were both attending Thalia’s birthday party, a common friend who knew each one of us from the different schools she attended - Celine hailed from Global Jaya, and Michael from JIS (obviously the cooler school - can you tell who wrote this?). The party was celebrated at every 16-year-old’s dream venue: Ancol. Dufan was the party of choice, so it was between the Kora-Kora rides and sugary, non-alcoholic soft drinks that we got to know each other. We had a close relationship after confessing our fondness for one another, but unfortunately, the deep relationship we shared for the two years that followed as a “backstreet couple" didn’t last.
However, it bred an intimacy that lasted until 9 years later, when we met again in 2013 for lunch and had a conversation that changed the meaning of our lives forever. It was a seed that was planted which rooted itself so closely to our inner characters and the understanding of our lives that it’s funny to even think this all happened by chance - or did it?
No, it didn’t.
Here we are, 13 years later, tying the knot and truly believing that our union is by design - God-given, if you will, and that’s not a phrase to be taken lightly. We’re not here to copy and paste a verse for you, but we truly know, from the deepest depths of our soul, body, and spirit, that we are meant for each other.
And we can’t wait to share the celebration of this overwhelming blessing with you.

Tidbits
Why #KnotABrat?
Three reasons:
1. Mike's tying a knot with a brat (Bratanata).
2. We're not brats anymore. (questionable for Celine)
3. Celine is not a Bratanata any longer, and now has to carry the super cool Ambonese family name of Luhukay.
How did you first meet?
Did you not just read Our Story just now? We know it's a tad long, but seriously, read it.
Who made the first move? How?
We both have arguments about this.
Who's going to take out the trash?
Michael definitely does. We've agreed that this is a "man's duty." Celine has a list of duties too!
What was your most memorable date?
To be honest the most memorable "date" would be that time we stayed at home and did absolutely nothing but spend time with one another - i.e. Netflix and chill with a bucket of chicken wings. Then we would make each other feel super guilty about it afterwards.
What's your favorite activity together?
Going to the gym and being workaholics next to each other.
Where are you going for your honeymoon?
Definitely have to see the Aurora Lights.
What's the best meal you have eaten together?
Those chicken wings with Netflix - didn't we say this already?
What's the most memorable trip you have taken together?
Would be the USA trip in late 2016 for Christmas and New Year. Check it out with #FlipsideUSA on Instagram! This was the trip when Mike proposed to Celine, but it was also a nostalgic journey back for Michael while also discovering Celine's birth place.
