Story

Unconventional. That’s the way you could describe our entire relationship. From the way we got together, to the way we got engaged, there is nothing ordinary about our relationship. We couldn't be more different in our personalities. Nonetheless, they say that opposites attract and it really does feel that way.

For those of you who may not know, we originally met as colleagues. To be more specific, Kris was the intern, though back then the relationship was strictly professional. But after having moved back to Singapore and countless bonding sessions over drinks and hotpot, little did we know that it would turn out like this. It's surreal that all of this is coming to fruition and we can't imagine doing this with anybody else so thank you for being a part of our special day.

Tidbits

How did you first meet?

See Our Story!

Who made the first move? How?

That's debatable. Kris brought Yika to the Merlion to eat his favourite slice of cake but Yika didn't consider it to be a move at the time.

What was your most memorable date?

All our best dates ended up with not remembering the next day.

What's your favorite activity together?

Eating at new restaurants and being around friends.

Where are you going for your honeymoon?

Looks like it's going to be Europe! We're excited as Yika has never been.

What's the best meal you have eaten together?

Kris would say Gaggan, Yika would say Indomie.

What's the most memorable trip you have taken together?

Taiwan was definitely the most memorable. Yika had just finished an operation the week before and was technically still recovering. We tried not to fill our schedule too much each day so we really got to be familiar with every shop, restaurant and convenience store within the 2-block radius of our hotel. We did manage to make it out to the night markets of course!

We’re on the same page about

Our morals, traditions and goals in life. We both have found these to be the key to both our happiness and our relationship.

We are regulars at

Every new restaurant we love. We end up obsessing over it and bring all of our friends and family there to try the food. Other than that, Ming Fa Bak Chor Mee and Chom Pang Nasi Lemak are the go-to supper meals for us!

We take pride in

Our friends and family. They are all our ride or dies.

Getting to Capella Singapore

There are many ways for you to get to Sentosa Island. The fastest modes of transport are taking a Grab or taxi directly to the hotel. Remember to inform the gantry operators that you are there to attend our wedding so you can get free entry! If you would like to arrive there with more of a view, there is a monorail that departs from Vivo City or better yet, take the cable car that departs from Harbourfront Tower!

Q & A

For all our friends and family who have lots of questions, please check out our Q & A first!

When is the RSVP deadline?

No fixed deadline but please try to let us know as soon as you can.

Are kids welcome?

As much as we love your little ones, we will not be including them in the ceremony or reception. However, we recognize that some of you will be traveling with your kids or cannot find anyone to babysit. If that's the case, please do let us know in advance so we can better prepare for the day. We will have a resting for those little ones who need to run away from the big crowds. Please reach out if you have questions!

What will the weather be like?

Welcome to Singapore for those travelling from out of town! The beauty of the island is we only have two seasons all year round. Hot and rainy. You can expect the temperature to be between 30-36 degrees on any given day so other than the wedding itself, keep the clothes light and airy!

Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?

Fret not! All of our events will be hosted indoors. Please refer to our schedule to see the various locations of the events on the day.

I am coming from out of town. Where should I stay?

For our guests travelling in for the wedding, we will be working with Royal Plaza on Scotts who are giving our guests a special rate for the period of the wedding! Please use "KRI121023" at checkout on the website

Where should I park?

We will have complimentary valet parking on the day! Furthermore, all our guest travelling by car will have free entry into Sentosa Island on the day. Just make sure you go through the manual gantry and let them know you are attending Kris & Yika's wedding at Capella Singapore!

What should I wear?

The dress code is formal. Please no jeans, shorts, t-shirts or slippers.

Are there any colors that guests should avoid wearing?

While we don't want to dictate and stop you from expressing your style, the bride will be wearing white during the solemnization and cream during the reception in the evening. Other than that, you do you!

What if I have a dietary restriction?

Once you have completed your RSVP, you will be prompted with a follow-up question asking if you have dietary restrictions and just fill in your information in the box. Alternatively, you can get in contact with either the bride or the groom directly.

Is it okay to take pictures with our phones and cameras during the wedding?

Yes! We would love for you to take photos and share them on our app Joy as well as your social media accounts. Remember to use our hastag “#GUNnagetTANned” on all your social media posts!

Will I get a chance to take professional photos with the couple?

Of course! We want this day to be as memorable for you as it will be for us. We know you will be taking your own photos but we will make sure to go around and have our photographer take photos with each and every one of you throughout the evening.

What should/could I do between the ceremony and the reception?

You may either return to your hotel to rest or try and explore city/area! There are plenty of places to go see on Sentosa Island itself and a lot of malls and historical sites nearby.

Are masks required? Will they be provided?

Singapore regulations do not require masks to be worn indoors or outdoors, however, if you would feel more comfortable wearing one for your own safety, we definitely would not oppose it. Just remember to tell us who you are if we can't recognize you from your eyes!
