Story
Her: I walked into a bar on October 12th, 2012.
I had been out celebrating Oktoberfest in downtown Redwood City with many of my closest friends, and we ended up where we always ended up (RIP RWC Underground). As I walked in I saw a very cute guy wearing a shirt from my work. I said "Hey! That's my shirt!" He looked confused for a minute, glancing down at the shirt, then back to me. "I'm pretty sure this is my shirt." It turned out that he volunteered at PHS, and we ended up talking for most of the night.
I was pretty smitten early on. I remember telling Seana "I think I might marry him" after our second date. We started with occasional pizza and movie nights, or trips to the dog park with Penny. As we got to know each other, we realized that meeting in line for the bathroom at the RWC Underground had not been our first chance encounter. That's one of my favorite parts - fate kept putting us in each other's paths, and when the stars finally fully aligned, we happened to be surrounded by so many people we love (many of you who will be joining us on 9/23.)
Now here we are with almost a decade of pizza and movies and dog parks behind us, ready for the next adventure.

Him: While out gallivanting one day with most of my closest friends we found ourselves at one of the classy establishments we would often frequent. Having imbibed a number of adult beverages I needed to use the restroom and was pleasantly accosted by a beautiful woman who tried to tell me that the shirt I was wearing was hers. It was a bit small on me, and I was a bit drunk but thought for a second and decided to tell her it was not. It turned out she worked at the Humane Society where I volunteered, and we ended up spending the rest of the afternoon/evening together and had tentative plans to hang out later that night. However I was crushed when she did not return my texts that night, which she later said was due to her phone running out of battery. Let’s just say after 10 years of being together I believe her…
Over the next year we began to spend more and more time together and I found myself in love. It took me a while to admit it to myself, but it was the best decision I have made so far in my life once I did. She was funny, smart, deeply caring, thoughtful and I felt safe and happy with her. Not only was she ok with dogs in the bed, she loved it as much as me! What really sealed it was what I like to refer to as the great Carlos Club Rug Heist.
It is surreal to think we are here 10 years later to take this next step, and glad all of you are there to help us along the way
