The Cove Jervis Bay NSW, Australia November 5th-7th 2024
Schedule
Travel
Travel Visa Required for International Guests - Don't worry it's simple!
You will need a valid Australian visa to enter the country. New Zealand passport holders can apply for a visa upon arrival in the country. All other passport holders, regardless of age, must apply for a tourist visa before leaving home. You can apply on the Australian Department of Home Affairs website and Australian ETA app in advance of your trip.
Getting In to Sydney From Canada
We usually take a direct flight from YVR to SYD with either Air Canada or Qantas, but can also highly recommend stopping over in Hawaii(Hawaiian Airlines + Qantas) or New Zealand(Air New Zealand) to break up the flight.
The wedding festivities start November 5th, 2024 at The Cove in Jervis Bay, and we suggest arriving to Sydney at least 1-2 days beforehand. Transport will be arranged from Sydney to the Wedding for international guests.
*REMINDER when booking your flights, due to the time change you travel forward in time two days.
Say you leave on a Wednesday night from Vancouver, you arrive in Sydney on Friday morning.
But don't worry, when you fly home you get that day back. Say you leave Saturday morning from Sydney, you travel back in time and get to Vancouver that same Saturday morning.
You can also get direct flights to Vancouver from Brisbane (Air Canada) if your travels lead you there.
We know it's a long flight and a lot of money, but we are so excited to spend this time together , and Australia is an incredible place to make a big trip of it like Lauren did.
If you didn't know, Lauren fell in love in Australia with some guy and I hear they're getting married soon ;)
SIM Cards - International Guests
We HIGHLY recommend getting a Telstra SIM card before you leave from the Sydney Airport. Telstra has more coverage in NSW than Optus.
With the SIM card you get unlimited talk, text and data which is so handy when in a new city. And we will all be able to communicate while you're not on wifi. Usually they are max $40.00.
Train from Sydney Airport to Sydney - International Guests
Take the stairs down to the train station inside the Sydney Airport and take the train to Circular Quay or Wynyard, depending where you are staying in Sydney. You can tap on for the fare with your credit card or buy a Compass Card.
The trains in Sydney are very comfortable and smooth, and it's a much quicker and cheaper way than taking a taxi.
Sydney Hotels Before The Wedding - International Guests
If you are staying in Sydney before the wedding, there are so many different ranges of hotels depending on your preference and budget. We recommend staying near: Circular Quay, The Rocks, Darling Harbour.

Story
March 26th, 2016, Cootamundra NSW. It was love at first flip cup, at a party we both weren't supposed to go to, in the back of a shearing shed. We've been best friends since that day, whether it be eating and drinking across Sydney and Vancouver, swimming in the Pacific Ocean or snuggling our cat Scout we love our big little life. We know we're so lucky to have met under the starry sky in the middle of nowhere and thank the universe everyday.
Tidbits
What was your most memorable date?
Early on Lauren always talked about going to Luna Park in Sydney because she loves rides. On our second date, sitting in Opera Bar at sunset I asked Tom where we were off to next. He pointed to the clown face lit up on the water across the harbour. We laughed all night, it was magic.
Where are you going for your honeymoon?
Italy!
What's the best meal you have eaten together?
We accidentally booked into Aria, one of the nicer restaurants in Circular Quay Sydney on a Monday night after Lauren got off at the bar. It was life changing and we still talk about it to this day.
What's the most memorable trip you have taken together?
Tom: Disneyland 2017, The Matterhorn especially.
Lauren: PVR Mexico, where we got engaged in 2022.
