Story
As many of you will know Libby and I met through Motorsport. Libby joined Porsche as a Motorsports Events Assistant for the 2017/18 season after finishing University and I was in my final year of Porsche racing (or so I thought at that time). Libby joined from Knockhill onwards and I don't remember seeing much of her over those final couple of races. Libby did see me though, she thought I was moody, too serious and made the racing boring because I won too much. Oh how I miss those days. I believe she also thought I was really rather handsome but she may deny that when questioned.
The first time I remember really noticing Libby was at that years awards evening which took place at Ascot Racecourse, just a few miles down the road from where we now live together in Binfield. She looked stunning that night and even though we didn't know each other I do remember looking in her direction every chance I got. We ended up on the bus back to the hotel together and whilst struggling to find a seat I do remember drunkenly asking if she wanted to sit on my lap. She respectfully declined and until this point I think that was the only time we had spoken. Rejected yes but it was a start.
The 2018 season was to be my first as a Honda BTCC driver and it was surely memorable. What I didn't know when the season started however was that I would spend as much time at the track chasing Libby as I would driving. I won't say much more for fear of spoling my speech but what I can tell you is all the chasing was certainly worth it.
