Story
It was a warm December evening in 2017 that Luke found himself waiting on a chair in the lobby of the H Hotel in Dubai, remembering what his old Professional Mentor had said in his past school - you'll never meet a partner if you move overseas.
Jessica found herself frantically racing through rush hour traffic for a date that her friends had to persuade her to go on. With a three week Christmas vacation coming up in only a few days, it seemed a bad time to go on a first date.
And despite a first date that saw a mistake on the booking, a broken pair of trousers, a midnight move to a chaotic Irish bar, and enough drink to leave a nasty hangover the next day at work, little did we know we had both experienced the last 'first date' we would ever have.
Titbits
How did you first meet?
When asked this before, we once explained that we met whilst parachuting into a battlefield behind enemy lines...
In case like them, you actually believe that, then the actual answer is Tinder! Like all fairytale love stories.
Who made the first move? How?
She tried (and repeatedly failed) to share her mobile number after a few beers during the Rugby Sevens that year, though he organised the first date.
Who's going to take out the trash?
Him: Me.
Her: Me.
Him: Ok, deal! I've got this in writing now.
What was your most memorable date?
It's hard to pick just one! Top contenders are a 'hundred candlelit dinner' in Bali, an underwater restaurant in the Maldives, as well as a covid 'Pizza Picnic' on our balcony.
Luke organised the first two, Jessica organised the third... Not that he cares or anything...
What's your favorite activity together?
We love walking our dog, dune bashing in the desert, going rock climbing as well as paddle-boarding around the Abu Dhabi mangroves.
Where are you going for your honeymoon?
Why have just one? Our bucket list currently has Hawaii, Jamaica, Antarctica and Tonga.
What's the most memorable trip you have taken together?
We once spent four weeks settling into local life in Bali, though a four night stay in the Maldives this year was pretty special.
We’re on the same page about
What our answer would be if we were on a quiz show and were asked what "our song" is. It's 'Big Enough' by Kirin J Callinan.
Jessica doesn't agree, but Luke is stubborn and would choose it on national TV, so she would have to say it...
The dorkiest thing about us is
We once wrote and directed a terrible Film Noir movie during Covid, which we forced our friends and family to perform in.
We can share the trailer upon request!

Q & A
For all our friends and family who have lots of questions, please check out our Q & A first!
When is the RSVP deadline?
Please RSVP by the end of January, so we can have an accurate headcount.
Can I bring a date?
Please check your invite for your +1! We unfortunately don't have flexibility with our overall numbers so may not be able to provide +1's even where we'd love to. We will have specified in your invitation if you have a +1.
Are kids welcome?
As much as we love your little ones, we will not be including them in the ceremony or reception for those outside of the Wedding Party.
Where should I park?
There is parking at both the venue as well as at Cotswolds Hotel.
What should I wear?
Please see our Schedule for the dress code.
Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?
Our wedding ceremony will hopefully be outdoors (weather dependent), but our reception and dinner will be indoors.
Is it okay to take pictures with our phones and cameras during the wedding?
Yes! We would love for you to take photos and share them on our app Joy.
However, please refrain from taking photos during the ceremony (including walking down the aisle and the ceremony with the registrar and officiant). This is a very special moment that we are wanting to share with you, therefore please leave your devices alone during that time. We have organised a professional photographer as well as a videographer, so we will have lots of pictures and videos that we can share with you anyway!
Whom should I call with questions?
We will be adding to this website over time, however if you have any urgent questions then do feel free to reach us at either ltjoboyle@gmail.com, or jess.sexton@hotmail.com.
