Story

Roland and I met like most young couples do these days, with a swipe right on a dating app. After a smooth pickup line, our first date consisted of sushi, sake bombs, and hustling Roland at pool. We've been together ever since.

We've navigated long distance when Madison moved to Bentonville, AR, a global pandemic, and adopting the most perfect orange cat (Evie). With plenty of witty jokes and belly laughs along the way, we've gotten to create memories that warm our hearts every time we reminisce, and have enjoyed countless adventures. We are truly in for a beautiful life together!

Tidbits

How did you first meet?

See Our Story!

Who made the first move? How?

Madison made the first move on Bumble. She saw that all of his pictures were at cool travel destinations and leaned into that with her pickup line. She suggested sushi and confessed that she had made a New Years resolution of taking a sake bomb... I think he was hooked after that.

What's your favorite activity together?

We love to cook, travel, exercise and go to local breweries together. Roland loves a Belgian tripel and Madison loves to pet as many dogs as she can.

Where are you going for your honeymoon?

Vietnam and Thailand for our biggest adventure yet!

What's the best meal you have eaten together?

We are truly foodies and appreciate the art and experience of what makes a good meal. A couple of our favorites are at Animae in San Diego, a decadent steak at Marcel in Atlanta's West Midtown, and almost anything Roland makes on the Big Green Egg.

What's the most memorable trip you have taken together?

With traveling being our favorite pastime, it's hard to choose any single trip. Some of our more memorable trips include a hiking & camping trip out West, relaxing in Antigua, exploring Ireland, and our annual ski trips.

How did Roland propose?

Last June, we went to Chicago with Madison's parents for their first trip to the city. Rol loves to show people his hometown! We went to the marina at Lake Michigan and I was shocked when we came aboard a beautiful yacht. There was a photographer and Madison had a suspicion on what was about to happen. 20 minutes later, we were dancing on the bridge of the boat when Roland played one of their favorite songs, spun Madison around and popped the question! It was an incredible night that ended in fireworks over Navy Pier and partying with our friends and family. Roland's thoughtfulness of the entire proposal is a memory that we'll both cherish forever.

The dorkiest thing about us is

Roland and Madison were both a little nerdy growing up. He was in a robotics club and she did Constitutional debate.

Q & A

For all our friends and family who have lots of questions, please check out our Q & A first!

Can I bring a date?

Please check your invite for your +1!

Are kids welcome?

As much as we love your little ones, we will not be including them in the ceremony or reception. Please reach out if you have questions!

What should I wear?

We like to think of weddings as a great excuse to dress up. We prefer you wear black tie attire. Men in tuxes, ladies in formal dresses or gowns.

What will the weather be like?

Welcome to Savannah! The weather here is typical for the Southern low country. During the day, the weather in Savannah should be beautiful, averaging ~80 degrees, but will likely be humid. Don't worry, we'll have plenty of water and the ceremony and reception are both indoors.

Where should I park?

At the Whitefield Chapel, please park by the guest entrance. Please don't park under the oak tree directly in front of the Chapel!

For the reception, there's several parking decks by The Perry Lane, as well as street parking and valet service at the hotel.

Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?

Our wedding ceremony is inside the beautiful, all original, Whitefield Chapel. Our cocktail hour will be at The Perry Lane Hotel with an indoor/outdoor split in the Ballroom Terrace, and our reception will be inside the Ballroom.

Is it okay to take pictures with our phones and cameras during the wedding?

Please refrain from using cellphones during the ceremony. You are more than welcome to snap some shots before or after the ceremony.

Why are you getting married in Savannah, GA?

Savannah is one of our favorite places to visit. It was the first weekend getaway we took together, right before the world shut down in March 2020. It's where we love to go and show off Georgia's low country, filled with charm and history. We've somehow managed at least one trip together every year we've been together. Savannah's the perfect mix of party, history, good eats, and sightseeing - so there's definitely something for everyone. We hope you leave our wedding weekend appreciating this city as much as we do.

Will there be a time gap between your wedding ceremony and reception?

Yes! There will be a gap between our ceremony ending around 3:45 and the cocktail hour starting at 6pm.
