Got Questions?
For all our friends and family who have lots of questions, please check out our Q & A first!
What size is the wedding?
Getting married during a global pandemic means that everyone’s health and safety is a top priority for us. So, our wedding has been limited to 100 guests.
What health and safety measures will be in place?
To provide a safe and comfortable experience, we’re kindly requesting all guests to comply with the following COVID health and safety protocols.
• Proof of full COVID-19 vaccination. Please email a copy to chicagoweddings@att.net (use subject line: Small-Grad COVID).
• Proof of negative COVID test done within 48 hours before the wedding. Please bring your results and photo ID.
• Upon arrival at the venue, we will be conducting temperature screening.
• We respectfully ask you not to shake hands or hug guests outside of your household.
• Masks are strongly recommended and will be required for self-service food stations.
• Masks and hand sanitizer will be available throughout the venue.
• A seating plan based on COVID-19 restrictions has been arranged for dinner time.
We truly hope that everyone will comply with these rules but understand if you can’t. To ensure the safety of everyone, unfortunately, no guest will be admitted without proof of a negative test and full vaccination.
When is the RSVP deadline?
All RSVP responses are needed no later than April 15th.
We sure hope you’ll be able to join us for our special day. However, we understand that it can be difficult to make some decisions around dates, especially if you need to travel.
With your invitation, there is an RSVP card for you to fill out and return to us by mail. You may also complete your RSVP on this site.
Due to COVID safety protocols, the ability to accept any responses received after April 15th will depend on capacity and availability at the venue.
Can I bring a date?
We anticipate many of our guests will bring either a spouse or a “plus 1”. If you would like to RSVP for more than 2 people (yourself and spouse or plus 1), please contact us prior to April 15th.
Are kids welcome?
Kids are pure joy… and their energy will keep the dance floor hopping. We would love to have their presence on our special day.
What should I do if I can't make it?
You will definitely be missed!
If you cannot make it to the wedding, please let us know as soon as possible and RSVP “no”, so we can plan accordingly.
What will the weather be like?
The Memorial Day weekend is often considered to be the start of summer across the country. While we can't predict the exact forecast for our wedding day, in Wisconsin, Memorial Day can have weather that could be considered to be more like mid-spring than summer-like. Average high temperatures on the Memorial Day weekend range from the upper 60s to low 70s. Keep an eye on the weather in the weeks leading up to the wedding, and be sure to pack a jacket just in case.

Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?
Most of the day’s activities will be held inside. The Jewish ceremony will be held on the brick patio east of the building. [Note: Anyone wearing narrow heeled shoes should be careful walking outside or bring an alternate pair of shoes.]
For inclement weather adverse to holding the ceremony outside, the Jewish ceremony will be held inside on the main floor reception area. The weather conditions will be announced before heading outside, so you know whether to bring your jacket.
What should I wear?
The dress code for our wedding is semi-formal/cocktail attire. For example: (1) Cocktail dresses, mid-length gown, dressy top and skirt, or even an elegant ankle-length jumpsuit. (2) Suit or dress pants and sports coat/jacket with a tie.

We are planning a classic and elegant wedding. The theme is moonlight serenade. The color scheme is midnight blue and ivory with gold accents.
What time should I arrive for the ceremony?
To allow time for COVID screening activities, the venue will be open to welcome our guests beginning at 3:15. Please plan to arrive no later than 3:30, so you can get settled before the ceremony begins promptly at 4.
What can I expect during the Christian ceremony?
The Christian ceremony will be held on the second floor in the mezzanine area.
Guests are seated on either side of the altar where the couple exchanges vows.
The officiant will say a few words of welcome and offer an introduction and some thoughts on marriage. Pre-selected readers will then be invited up to share a few words. The Officiant then addresses the couple and talks about the responsibilities of marriage and the sanctity of the vows. After the readings, the couple takes turns reciting their vows and places the rings on each other's fingers as a symbol of the marriage. The couple will then complete the unity ritual, using two candles to light a single candle. Lastly, the Officiant will lead a closing prayer and say words of encouragement to the couple, blessing their union. The Officiant pronounces the couple married and introduces the married couple for the first time.
After the ceremony, guests head to the main floor reception hall for hors d'oeuvres and drinks.
What can I expect during the Jewish ceremony?
The ceremony will be held on the brick patio.
Guests will be seated in the round, surrounding the chuppah (altar beneath which the couple exchanges vows). A chuppah has four corners and a covered roof symbolizing the bride and groom's new home.
The Rabbi will bring greetings. Two blessings are recited before the betrothal, symbolized by the exchange of rings. The Rabbi will offer a blessing over wine. The wine is then tasted by the couple. The seven blessings (Sheva B'rachot) will be read in Hebrew and English. The blessings focus on joy, celebration, and the power of love. As the ceremony comes to an end, the groom is invited to step on a glass inside a cloth bag to shatter it. When the glass is broken, the guests cheer "Mazel tov!" ("good luck" or "congratulations").
The wedding party will gather for the signing of the Ketubah, a symbolic Jewish marriage contract. [The Ketubah will be on display on the first floor prior to the ceremony, if guests would like to read it.]
Where is the reception?
The Ceremonies and Reception will be held at the Milwaukee County Historical Society Museum located in downtown Milwaukee. The address is 910 N Old World 3rd St, Milwaukee, WI 53203
Will food be served?
We'll be serving light passed hors d'oeuvres during cocktail hour. The reception will include a family style seated dinner, including a harvest salad, fish, chicken and steak entrees, as well as a compliment of side dishes. After dinner, guests will help themselves to a scrumptious dessert bar.

Because we are combining households, we realize we have more than enough belongings. So, if you do wish to celebrate with a gift, we have decided to establish a fund for the honeymoon of our dreams. Contributing to our honeymoon fund will help support our travel, as well as personalized experiences, such as excursions and spa days.
We would also love for you to consider a donation to the charities closest to our hearts! We have listed the charities below.
i. American Cancer Society ()
ii. National Institute of Mental Health ()
