Story

Love stories often paint whimsical tales that spark our imagination and fill us with joy. Matt and Courtney's story slightly differ but embodies the same ebullient energy. A midwest girl meets a Hispanic man, and they spend countless hours laughing, smiling, and realizing their connection is like no other.

After several dates, they decide to make it official, and a relationship neither of them expected takes hold. From trips to Disney, weddings, fancy restaurants, and more, Matt and Courtney quite quickly realized they had found their person. Courtney's exuberant and loving personality perfectly complimented Matt's thoughtful and playful mentality. Not a day has passed that either has ever doubted their love for each other.

How did you first meet?

We met on the online dating app Hinge, and our first date was at Moe's Southwest Grill in Tampa, FL.

Who made the first move? How?

Matt responded on Courtney's Hinge profile about not being able to dance, and the two of us hit it off from there making depreciating remarks about ourselves.

Who's going to take out the trash?

Mostly Matt.

What was your most memorable date?

Going to Tampa's most famous steak house, Bern's, for our one-year anniversary and soaking in the whole experience of the restaurant. From the food to the staff, to the eclectic tour of the kitchen and wine cellar and the fantastic dessert room--it was a magical night that we will never forget.

What's your favorite activity together?

Watching movies with a glass of our favorite drinks.

Where are you going for your honeymoon?

Paris, London, and Amsterdam!

What's the best meal you have eaten together?

Anything that we cook together. There isn't a dinner that doesn't have each of us in the kitchen preparing or cooking for each other.

What's the most memorable trip you have taken together?

Matt's 31st birthday where we went to Galaxy's Edge at Disney's Hollywood Studios and spent the entire time soaking in every aspect of the Star Wars aesthetic and rides.

There a lots of ways to get around in Tampa! Several car rental options exist, and Lyft and Uber are relatively inexpensive. However, contact the bride and groom for ride accommodations, there are several locals attending the wedding, and if we can save you some money on transportation, we will help as much as possible.

When is the RSVP deadline?

Please RSVP by January 15th, so we can get an accurate headcount!

Can I bring a date?

Please check your invite if you are annotated with a +1. If you are not, contact the bride and groom, and we will see if we can make accommodations.

Are kids welcome?

As much as we love your little ones, we will not be including them in the ceremony or reception.

What will the weather be like?

Welcome to Tampa, all of you out-of-towners! The weather here is normally tropical, meaning warm year round, but March tends to vary in temperature. During the day, the weather in Tampa should be beautiful, averaging 78-85 degrees, but it can get below 60 degrees in the evening, depending on the day. Please bring a warm layer, or two, for the evening, just in case. We don't want anyone freezing or feeling uncomfortable.

Where should I park?

There is plenty of free parking at the entrance of the venue. We will have signs designating where to park.

Are the ceremony and reception locations wheelchair accessible?

Yes.

What should I wear?

Semi-formal attire is the dress code for the event.

Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?

The wedding ceremony will be outdoors, while the reception will take place indoors.

What kind of shoes should/shouldn't I wear?

Calling all ladies! Do not wear stiletto heels. I repeat, do not wear stiletto heels. There are a bunch of grassy/dirt areas that you might have to walk in.

For men, dress shoes are fine. For ladies, any kind of flat or low-block heel would be appropriate.

Is it okay to take pictures with our phones and cameras during the wedding?

No, please do not take any photos during the ceremony. There will be a photographer present who needs full access to capture our special day. During the cocktail hour and reception, you are free to take as many photos as you please.
