Getting In

For our overseas guests, we'd recommend flying to Manchester and then taking the train to Sheffield. For the UK-based guests, taking the train to Sheffield or driving to Sheffield or Thunder Bridge is the easiest option. Thunder Bridge is about a 35 minute drive from Sheffield City Centre and there will be transportation on the day (see question on transportation). Please note that the venue is in a rural area so convenient public transportation there from Sheffield isn't available.

Q & A

For all our friends and family who have questions, please check out our Q & A first!

When is the RSVP deadline?

The RSVP deadline has now passed. Thanks for all of your responses. We can't wait to see you there!

What is the venue for the big day?

From humble beginnings as an 18th Century drinking inn, The Woodman Inn has provided sustenance to thousands of travellers in a tranquil, rural location in the tiny hamlet of Thunder Bridge, near Huddersfield. Jump forward 300 years and The Woodman Inn has been transformed into a 21st century modern restaurant/hotel and the venue for our big day!

We chose the venue as it's in a beautiful conservation area with lots of walking options and a nice pub is our natural habitat. The Woodman Inn has both outdoor and indoor areas for our big day so we're prepared come rain or shine.

If you want to find out more, check out their website:

Unless we've spoken to you separately, you are invited to join us at 3pm for start of reception. As we're a little shy, the Ceremony at 2 pm is just for our close family.

The dress code for our wedding is cocktail attire but your comfort is most important to us so please come in what you feel happiest in.

I've booked a hotel room at the venue through you. What will be the next steps?

We'll allocate a room for you and confirm this back to the venue. You'll be able to check in anytime from 1pm on the wedding day and the check-out time is 11am. You'll be able to pay for the room on the day but once we've confirmed your booking after the RSVP's, it can no longer be cancelled.

There will be a short ceremony for our closest family whilst majority of you will be joining us for start of Reception. The Reception will include a a drinks reception with some garden games and canapés, sit-down meal and hopefully a full dance floor with our awesome DJ to end the night.

As we want to spend the day celebrating with our favourite people, the overall feel will be quite informal with lots of time to catch up and have fun.

Will the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception take place indoors or outdoors?

Our small ceremony will be indoors. We hope to have the cocktail hour outdoors if weather permits followed by reception meal and dancing indoors.

What if I have a dietary restriction?

Please let us know about any dietary restrictions or allergies in you RSVP answer so we can accommodate appropriately.

We'll be serving light canapés during cocktail hour, followed by a plated starter and main and a dessert buffet. There will also be some food available towards the end of the night.

Will there be speeches at the Reception?

What is the typical weather in Thunder Bridge around June like?

As we're getting married in the UK, we can expect anything from torrential rain to hot blazing sunshine on the wedding day. On average though, June temperatures range from 18° - 12° with 9 rainy days.

What should I do if I can’t make it?
