Story
We met in Dallas at a bar called "Happiest Hour." Zack was flying back from California and missed his connection. A co-worker of his also missed his flight, so they met up and went downtown for a drink. I asked Zack to play cornhole against me, not knowing we would end up talking the entire night. I honestly just wanted to crush a guy and his buddy in cornhole! Though we exchanged numbers, I didn't think too much of it because he lived so far away and the circumstances weren't realistic. I was certain I would never hear from him again. But I did.
Some time later, I booked a flight to Atlanta to spend some time with him. We actually saw a shooting star together that first visit--it was too good that I thought (and still think) he made it up. I still thought for some time there was "no way" it would work--but Zack knew he would always see me again. It eventually got to the point where we realized we didn't want to be without each other, so I moved to Charlotte to be (somewhat) closer and then moved to GA about a year later. I've never looked back.
Tidbits
Who made the first move? How?
Technically Maya did? I asked him to play cornhole, though I wasn't trying to "make a move." He texted me a book recommendation first.
Who's going to take out the trash?
The kids.
What was your most memorable date?
For Maya-We didn't have the kids one weekend so we went out to dinner and to a dive bar in downtown Buford after. There was an 80's cover band playing and it was a blast. Maya got onstage at the end.
For Zack-"The Christmas Booty Call of 2017" as his family calls it....Maya was working on Christmas in Dallas-all of my family was celebrating in New York. After Zack spent time with the kids and his family, he hopped on a flight on Christmas day so I wouldn't be alone. We made steak/scallops and stuffed mushrooms. It was pretty special.
What's your favorite activity together?
Wakeboarding on the lake. Hiking. Mountain-biking and drinking craft beer.
Where are you going for your honeymoon?
We originally wanted to go to Peru--but we will probably stay in the U.S due to COVID.
We're thinking about Arizona or Alaska.
What's the best meal you have eaten together?
We love to eat out and try new things. However, the best meals that we have had are the ones we have cooked together at home with the kids.
What's the most memorable trip you have taken together?
We spent a week with Alice & Justin at UNICO 20 87 QR, Mexico. I don't typically love all-inclusive vacations-but this resort was the BEST.

We recently realized that we have more than enough belongings. We both want to collect experiences, instead of things. A donation to our adventure fund would be much appreciated and would be put to good use. Thank you so much!
Q & A
For all our friends and family who have lots of questions, please check out our Q & A first!
What about COVID?
We expect the majority of our guests to be fully vaccinated. We ask that if you are not fully vaccinated to please consider doing so for the safety of all of our guests. Getting vaccinated would truly be the greatest gift you could give us.
The Pfizer vaccine has been fully approved by the FDA. Information about the vaccine: While the vaccine is not 100% effective in preventing infection with COVID-19, it significantly reduces morbidity and mortality.
While we do believe that it is everyone's personal choice whether or not to get vaccinated, please understand that we will have young children and others at the wedding who cannot be vaccinated and we feel it is our duty to protect them.
For those of you not vaccinated, we respectfully ask that you obtain a negative COVID PCR (not a rapid test) within 3 days of the wedding.
Thank you very much for your attention to this important matter.
When is the RSVP deadline?
Please RSVP by November 15th so we can have an accurate headcount. Thank you!
