It was a sunny spring day in 2011 when McKenzie first laid eyes on Joey at a track meet and declared she would take him to prom. Fast forward to June 3rd, 2011, and they were inseparable. The next four years were filled with countless memories – Cowboys and Stars games, formals, concerts, trips to Chicago, the list goes on. After an amazing stretch of growing up and making memories together, they decided to go their separate ways in 2015, as Kenz was moving to her favorite city in the world, NYC, and Joey was moving back to Dallas after graduation. Even though they weren’t dating anymore, Kenz always knew he was the one, and everyone she met in New York knew about this “boy back home” and how he had stolen her heart. The next six years flew by, both growing in more ways than they could have imagined, and in February 2021, Joey called Kenz and asked her to spend a weekend with him in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida. You could say that weekend sealed the deal, because from that point forward, these two knew they were in it for the long haul. Six months later, Joey got down on one knee in one of their now favorite places, Big Sur, California, and asked Kenz the question she’d been dreaming of since she first laid eyes on him 10 years earlier.

We can’t wait to celebrate our marriage with our family and closest friends on June 3rd, 2023 – 12 years to the day we first started dating.
