Story

We met for breakfast at Aretha Frankenstein's (this is totally on our list of recommendations) in Chattanooga, Tennessee (the halfway point between Nashville and Atlanta) and had our first and last first date over pancakes on an old school Pac Man table.
We spent the rest of the day playing tourists and talking and laughing, and making fun of the kitschy-ness of of Rock City. Amanda knew on the drive home that this was something special.

One date turned into many, and lots of miles in between. David and Amanda would alternate visits back and forth between Atlanta and Nashville, and sometimes other cities thrown in for fun. The first time they said "I love you" was in Asheville, North Carolina, after spending the weekend exploring, going to baseball games, chasing waterfalls, and visiting breweries.

In May of 2016, Amanda made the move to Nashville so the two could be together. After just over a year in Nashville together, David came home from work one day and told Amanda to pack her bags for the weekend, they were going on a trip. They drove the 2 hour drive (through torrential rain!) down through Chattanooga to a little town called Flintstone, Georgia. It was there that they stayed in a magical little house up in the trees. And it was the next morning that David woke her up (suuuuuper early) to go see the sunrise on Signal mountain.

On June 15, 2017, on top of Snooper's Rock in front of God and the most glorious sunrise ever, David asked Amanda to "do life with him", and here we are. You're invited to the beginning of their forever.

Tidbits

How did you first meet?

See Our Story!

Who made the first move? How?

He made the first move! On our first date, as we were saying good bye and preparing to drive back to Atlanta and Nashville, we hugged and I kissed him on the cheek. He pulled me back in and gave me a real kiss.

Who's going to take out the trash?

Whoever happens to be closer to the trash :)

What was your most memorable date?

There have been so many fun ones! The most memorable was when we rented a convertible and drove out to the Grand Canyon. It was amazing and beautiful!

What's your favorite activity together?

We both love going to concerts, and Nashville is the perfect place to catch all of our favorite shows.

Where are you going for your honeymoon?

We haven't decided yet, but somewhere amazing. We want to explore and experience the culture!

What's the best meal you have eaten together?

In Chicago, we went to a restaurant called Roister, and it was AMAZING.

What's the most memorable trip you have taken together?

We both loved going to Chicago, and Las Vegas was really neat, but Asheville, NC holds a special place in our hearts. It was the first trip we'd ever taken together and it was the first time we said "I Love You".

Q & A

For all our friends and family who have lots of questions, please check out our FAQ first!

When is the RSVP deadline?

April 30, 2018

Can I bring a date?

Please see invite.

Are kids welcome?

As our wedding is a mostly evening event, and we want our guests to be able to kick back and enjoy, we’ve found a few local babysitting services we can recommend. Please email Amanda for details: amandabgarrett@gmail.com

What time should I arrive?

The ceremony will begin at 6pm. You'll want to arrive in enough time to park your car and ride the shuttle to the wedding site (a 2 minute ride), and then walk down to the ceremony site. You should be safe if you shoot for a 5:30 arrival.

Where should I park?

There is tons of parking at Walnut Hill Farm, and a shuttle to take you from the parking area right to the doors of the venue!

What should I wear?

Semi-formal/dressy casual attire, please.

What kind of shoes should/shouldn't I wear?

Our ceremony will be held on grass, and the short walk from the shuttle drop-off to the ceremony has several places of uneven or soft footing. Ladies, please plan your shoes accordingly - a stable heel, wedge, or flat shoe is probably best.
In case of inclement weather, the ceremony will be moved indoors

Registry

Your presence at our wedding would mean the world, and is enough of a present to us. Since we met as adults, we've been able to accumulate most of the necessities for a household over the years and don't need much. However, should you want to give a gift, we have created a few registries with some items that we'd like, as well as a honeymoon registry where your gift is put towards our honeymoon adventures!
