Krista's side of the story...
I had for a long time been telling my friends to keep an eye out for a really great guy. My good friend Sarah told me one day she has a new neighbor who she thinks is interesting and he is single. But, it appeared he had a girlfriend so she needed to monitor the situation. On a trash day she striked up the "good morning conversation" with her neighbor Mike and casually mentioned she has a friend she'd love to introduce him to if he's interested. My understanding was Mike told her if I was truly interested, I could text him. He didn’t want me to think some random guy was reaching out, especially if I wasn't really interested.
Mike's side of the story...
Internet dating is hard. I had been through a series of dates that were not working out. A few days after I had broken up with my last date, I was taking out my trash in the driveway. My new neighbor, Sarah, who had fairly recently moved in met me in the driveway. After discussing the breakup, she said that she knew a really nice woman named Krista that she wants me to meet. After the series of breakups that I had just partaken in, I was naturally pretty skeptical! Oh great, a blind date... However, I agreed that if she wanted I would meet her for a date. I am very glad that I did!
Tidbits
What was your first date?
Normally, people go to dinner or sometimes lunch for their first date. We decided we wanted brunch! We went to La Farm bakery in Cary. This was on April 6, 2019.
Who made the first move? How?
Krista via a text. However, this was only because of her good friend Sarah who had been instructed to keep an eye out for a great guy...
What was your most memorable date?
Our most memorable date is the one where Mike planned a surprise birthday outing. Mike gave Krista a set of safety rules including not to where flammable clothing or open toed shoes. Krista was very concerned about what she was getting into. But, she was elated when we arrived at the glassblowing studio! We both made our own marble and Christmas ornament and it was an amazing time!
What's your favorite activity together?
We like to do outdoor activities together like hiking and biking. We also like to do jigsaw puzzles.
What's the best meal you have eaten together?
Gelato in Italy!
Where are you going for your honeymoon?
Good question! We'll figure that out later...

A life goal of ours
To retire on the lake! Mike says we have to have wifi.
The dorkiest thing about us is
We make silly faces in photos at pretty places.
How did you propose?
Mike proposed to Krista at Elodie farms. Elodie is a goat farm that serves 5 course dinners. They make goat cheese and allow you to meet all of the animals. We have been to several of these events and it is very special to us. He invited close friends to be a part of the event.
