Q & A
For all our friends and family who have lots of questions, please check out our Q & A first!
Can I bring a date?
Please check your invite for your +1!
Are kids welcome?
Absolutely! They're welcome to participate for as long as their little legs and emotional capacities will sustain them. There's a playground if that's their jam -- Marine Park really is a park! We will have on-site babysitting available so parents can continue to enjoy the festivities after the little ones get tuckered out. More details to follow on that front.
What will the weather be like?
Great question! Fall weather in the Gorge is highly variable. Keep an eye on the forecast for Cascade Locks as we get closer, but be prepared for anything from mid-60s and sunny to torrential rain. It can also be very breezy near the river. Unless it's a complete downpour, the ceremony will take place on an island in the river, so plan your outfit accordingly.
Where should I park?
There is tons of parking onsite! We'll have parking passes so you don't have to pay.
Are the ceremony and reception locations wheelchair accessible?
Yes. Our ceremony is outdoors and a quarter-mile from the reception area, but we will have golf carts available for anyone with mobility limitations. If you have any other accessibility needs, please email us at wedding@porkfire.com and we will accommodate you.
What should I wear?
Honestly? We just want to see you, and for you to feel comfortable and ready to dance. In wedding lingo -- dressy casual to semi-formal. You can leave the tux and ballgown at home, unless that's what makes you feel your best!
Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?
The ceremony itself will take place outdoors, rain or shine (unless there's a thunderstorm or flood warning). Our wedding site on the island has some tree cover, but is far from waterproof, so if it looks like rain, bring a protective layer. The reception and dinner will be safely inside the walls of the (heated and air conditioned) pavilion.
What kind of shoes should/shouldn't I wear?
Do not wear stiletto heels if you value your ankles. Most of the event space outside of the pavilion is grass or dirt, and goose poop may be present. Flats, wedges, and the back-in-style chunky 90s heels are your best bets.
Is it okay to take pictures with our phones and cameras during the wedding?
Please do! Details to follow on how best to share those.
What's the COVID plan?
We will be requiring ALL GUESTS who are eligible to be fully vaccinated and boosted. Children too young for vaccination are exempt.
We will be following all federal, state, and local COVID-19 safety guidelines in place at the time of the wedding, so please check back for updates closer to the date.
