Is there a gift list?

We are so grateful to all our friends and family for spending the day with us, so please do not feel the need to bring a gift. However, if you would like to give us a gift, we have a couple of options below:

- Cake! If you like baking we would love you to bring a homemade cake to the tea and cake in the Chapter House, please see our Bakers’ notes below for more info

- We have a gift list at the Wedding Shop. Number 62106.

I’d like to bake and bring cake! What should I do?

These are our Bakers’ notes:

1. Please could you let us know what kind of cake you plan on bringing (not essential, it’s just to help guide Mimi on what extra flavours she should bake)

2. Please pre-slice your cake

3. Please bring your cake to the Canterbury Cathedral Chapter House before the wedding service - there will be someone there to greet you between 11:30-12:30. We will have serving plates and labels ready to go

4. You will be able to collect any tupperware/cake tins either as you leave the Cathedral after the wedding service and tea and cake, or
from Christopher and Janette's house the following day

I’d like to take the coach from the Cathedral to Mount Ephraim Gardens. Where do I go?

Seb Nickols will lead the group to the coach for pick up.
In case you get separated from the group, exit the Cathedral through the Quenin Gate (which is at the far side of the Memorial Garden). The coach pick up will happen at 3PM from outside the Magistrates Court, on the opposite side of Lower Bridge Street to the Cathedral side, there is a crossing there with lights.

Our story

Hal and Mimi met as 18-year-old freshers at St John’s College, Durham University in 2008, however remained very much ‘just friends’ for 10 years! It wasn’t until Hal offered to accompany Mimi on the New Zealand leg of her ‘down-under’ sabbatical in 2017 that sparks started to fly.

In the beautiful romantic land of glaciers, mountains, lakes and great wine, this love story began.

Travelling has retained a very special place in our hearts and we still try to go on as many adventures big and small as we can. We are told that the fact that our relationship started with a roadtrip and therefore have mastered the art of driving together without fighting early on is a good start!
