Story
Sarah and Mitch met at the start of college because of their time in the Michigan Marching Band. Sarah was a member of the second best section in band, the trombone section. Mitch, on the other hand, was a member of the best section, the trumpet section. Despite this difference, Sarah was a friend to many in Mitch's social circle, but they didn't have much interaction until their senior year.
In 2018 (October 6th to be exact), they both attended a band function and found themselves talking for multiple hours. Both of them left thinking, "Oh, that was pretty fun" but didn't think too much of it.
Fast forward a few days of chatting, Mitch and his housemates were planning to visit a local fine dining establishment, Charley's. Unbeknownst to Mitch, Noah (co-best man) invited Sarah to tag along on this venture. Always the gentleman, Mitch made the trek (10 houses / 1 block) to pick Sarah up for the night out. After a night filled with a responsible number of beverages and an irresponsible number of laughs, they knew this could be something special.
After seeing each other frequently over the next month, on November 11th, 2018, Mitch went to dinner with one of his former roommates, Brody. At dinner, Brody was asking about Sarah and how things were going between Mitch and this "new lady". After blabbering for 45 minutes about all the things Mitch liked about Sarah, he realized that Sarah was pretty great. At that moment, Mitch decided (with some *gentle* encouragement from Sarah) to make things official and from then on, they were officially "goin' together" (as Herb, Mitch's father, so eloquently puts it).
When the school year ended, Sarah accepted a job in California with eBay, while Mitch stayed in Ann Arbor for a victory lap at school. They were both nervous about a long distance relationship, but gave it the ol' college try.
Their time apart lasted about a year, but was cut short by the COVID pandemic. The first few months they spent floating around before eventually settling in St. Louis for Mitch's job. Mitch found a great place and since Sarah was working remotely, they decided to move in together. Five months later, they adopted a pup named Millie (featured in many pictures on this site).
On December 10th, 2022, Mitch enacted a not-so-secret secret plan to propose to Sarah. He enlisted the help of some St. Louis friends and brought Sarah to Forest Park, their favorite place in the city. He picked out a special place and popped the question. After no deliberation, Sarah said, "Yes" and the wedding planning began!

Wait - didn't you have your wedding in Rhode Island?
Yes, that is correct! However, due to capacity restrictions at our Rhode Island venue, we were limited on the invites.
Due to those restrictions, we wanted to host a celebration with our Midwest based friends and family since we love you all so much!
However, this will not be a second wedding. But because we want to celebrate with you, we will be providing drinks, food, dancing/music, and endless conversation (at least until the venue kicks us out!).
Thanks for your understanding, and we look forward to seeing you there!
When is the RSVP deadline?
Please RSVP by September 30th, so we can have an accurate headcount. :)
