Story

"A French Vanilla Coolata with a flat top and no whip cream"

It all started 12 years ago with a simple coffee order at Dunkin Donuts on Plantation Street. For years, Monica would frequent this location for her usual coffee and eventually noticed the cute boy behind the counter with a fohawk and "too cool for school attitude". After months of watching the two make small-talk and give each other flirty smiles, Monica's sister decided to take matters in to her own hands (as a very wise and mature 7th grader) and left a note with Daniel's coworker. The note in question? Monica's phone number, of course, lovingly signed as "French Vanilla Coolata with a flat top".

A few hours later, while sitting in a Friendly's booth, Monica got a text saying "Hey, this is Daniel from Dunkin".

Who could've guessed that this would kick-off a decade (and then some) full of love, adventure, and indeed lots of coffee.

Tidbits

How did you first meet?

See Our Story!

What was your first date?

A fine dining experience at the local TGI Friday's (which in hindsight, they couldn't have picked a more difficult restaurant given Monica's vegetarianism and Daniel's dairy allergy) followed by the movie premiere of the Hunger Games. And it's no secret that Monica still refuses to watch the last Hunger Games movie since she doesn't want it to be the end of their relationship, like it was for the movie.

How did he propose?

During Thanksgiving 2021, they were on Monica's first family trip to Europe with her mom and sister in Paris. They had first visited the city in 2016 and Monica had fallen in love with it so was incredibly excited to show her family around - no doubt by planning out every single minute. After a full-day of sight-seeing, Daniel had planned a date night for the two but Monica refused to leave her mom alone so after enlisting her sister for help, Daniel and Priyanka were finally able to convince Monica to go off on their own. After a dinner where Daniel was acting "off" much to Monica's annoyance, the two went to a nearby rooftop where Daniel had set-up a private proposal against the backdrop of a sparkling Eiffel Tower. It was the easiest "YES!", Monica ever said.

We’re on the same page about

What's important to us. And that's spending time with the people we love most. (You all!)

A life goal of ours

To help as many first-gen and low-income students achieve their education and professional dreams. We'd love to start a non-profit one day focused on breaking socio-economic barriers!

What's your favorite activity together?

Traveling to new places and getting to know the local people, food, and traditions. We've been to 25 countries together and plan on getting to as many more as possible!

What's the most memorable trip you have taken together?

It's so hard to pick one! But before starting business school, we spent the summer traveling through Southeast Asia from Bali to Cambodia. It was an incredible adventure and we'll never forget doing sunset yoga in the rice fields or waking up for sunrise at Angkor Wat.

What was your most memorable date?

A double date with a 50-something year old couple that we met during a trip to Israel. The man was from Punjab (same state as Monica) and the woman was a Christian from the Middle East. The two had been married for 30 years and had traveled around the world. It was the first time that Monica and Daniel spoke with an interracial couple that had successfully navigated the cultural and religious challenges...it felt like a glimpse in to what their future could be.

The four of them went to a locals-only restaurant tucked away in The Shuk in Jerusalem where they listened to an Israeli band play "Hallelujah". Singing with a room full of strangers against the backdrop of the Old City walls with new friends, it was a surreal experience that brings goosebumps to both Monica and Daniel every time they think of that night.

What's the best meal you have eaten together?

After driving along the coast of Portugal, we stumbled upon this small fisherman's village and a restaurant overlooking the cliffs. It was not only one of the most stunning meals we've had together but also the freshest and most delicious. Daniel still thinks of that Bacalhau to this day.

Where are you going for your honeymoon?

Somewhere with beautiful beaches!

The dorkiest thing about us is

We need a spreadsheet for everything :)

Who's going to take out the trash?

That's easy...Daniel.

Getting In

We recommend flying into Boston Logan International Airport and then driving to The Berkshires!

Car

Getting to The Berkshires

Given the natural beauty of the venue, it is located between two mountain ranges in Western Massachusetts (this means transportation is a bit limited)! The easiest way to get there from Worcester or Boston is renting a car. For those coming in from NYC, you can also take Amtrak's Berkshire Flyer to Pittsfield and Uber/Lyft to the hotel.

Q & A

For all our friends and family who have lots of questions, please check out our Q & A first!

When is the RSVP deadline?

Please RSVP by April 25th at the latest - this is a hard deadline (looking at our Indian and Brazilian friends here)! :)

Can I bring a date?

Please check your invite for invited guests. Though we would love to celebrate with others as well, our venue space is limited so we will not be able to accommodate any additional guests. If you have any questions on this, please reach out to us.

What will the weather be like?

Welcome to Western Massachusetts! The weather here can be funny. During the day, the weather should be beautiful, averaging 70-75 degrees, but will get chilly at night. Please bring some warm layers for the evening, we don't want anyone freezing their bu...well you get the point. ;)

Where should I park?

There will be buses running from both hotels on loop so we encourage everyone to make use of them (especially since the drinks will be flowing!). For those of you who prefer to drive, there will be limited parking available on the property.

Are the ceremony and reception locations wheelchair accessible?

Yes, and we will have a golf cart available for anyone needing assistance getting around the property!

What should I wear?

Please see our Schedule for the dress code for all events. If you have any questions or want to borrow any Indian attire, reach out to Monica!

Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?

All Friday festivities will be held outside. Our Saturday ceremony will be outside but the reception will be held indoors.

What kind of shoes should/shouldn't I wear?

Calling all ladies! Do not wear stiletto heels. I repeat, do not wear stiletto heels. There are a bunch of grassy/dirt areas that you might have to walk in so wear chunky heels or sandals. Can't have any of you ruining nice shoes or breaking any ankles.

Is it okay to take pictures with our phones and cameras during the wedding?

Yes! We would love for you to take photos and share them with us. However (and this is a BIG however), please refrain from taking photos during the ceremonies.

Whom should I call with questions?

Please reach out to Daniel or Monica with any additional questions.
