This venue is largely outdoors. The ceremony, dance floor, and dinner space all have cover from the elements. That being said, we are somewhat subject to the elements. May can be hot, it can be cold, it can be sunny, it can be rainy. Check the weather ahead of time and prepare. Bring sunscreen or a rain jacket if you need it. We don't mind dancing in the rain!
Chicago and Elburn
In Chicago (city proper), car-share services like Lyft or Uber will be your best bet. To get to Elburn, drive or take the Metra - Union Pacific West line. There will be shuttles available to and from select hotels near Elburn for the wedding. Read below to see which have shuttles.
Transportation - Carpool & Uber Groups (for those who want to make friends)
For those looking to make new friends and carpool/split an uber... check out this handy excel where you can ask or offer seats in your car for both Saturday and Sunday nights.
For The wedding, we will have designated "Uber Captains" who are willing to call a 6-seater to minimize chaos. Thank them, buy them a drink. OR be an uber captain and get free drinks...

We've reserved a 15-room block here. This is the closest hotel to the venue. Room price ranges from $138-145. Please book here before April 28, 2024.

We do not have a room-block reserved here. However, if you want to have a luxurious weekend away for our wedding, this is the place to do it!

THIS BLOCK IS FULL!
We've put 15 rooms in our wedding block. If you're concerned about transportation to and from the venue book here! When we fill up our block, there will be a shuttle service from the hotel to Heritage Prairie Farm.

This shuttle will leave the hotel promptly at 3:00. You will be required to reserve your space on a sign-up sheet at the front desk. It will be first-come first-serve. Each shuttle can carry 14 people per trip.

3:35 PM - 4:00 PM
This is the second trip TO the venue for the wedding. This shuttle will depart the hotel promptly at 3:35. Again, you will be required to reserve your space on a sign-up sheet at the front desk. It will be first-come first-serve. Each shuttle can carry 14 people per trip.

9:00 PM - 9:30 PM
This is the first RETURN Trip to the HOTEL. The shuttle will leave Heritage Prairie Farm at the designated time. It will be first-come first-serve. Each shuttle can carry 14 people per trip.

This is the SECOND RETURN TRIP to the hotel. It will be first-come first-serve. Each shuttle can carry 14 people per a trip.

What will the weather be like?

May can be hot, it can be cold, it can be sunny, it can be rainy. It can even be warm during the day and chilly at night. Check the weather ahead of time and prepare. Bring sunscreen or a rain jacket if you need it. We don't mind dancing in the rain!
Where should I park?
There is a parking lot on the property that can hold 75 cars. You may leave your car in the parking lot overnight but must pick it up the next day by 10:00am.
And fret not! If the parking lot should fill, there is overflow parking along the farm road outside the venue. When you arrive staff onsite will direct you on where to park.
Are the ceremony and reception locations wheelchair accessible?
Yes. A golf cart shuttle is available if you need assistance getting from your car to the ceremony or reception locations. The ceremony, reception, and restrooms are all accessible. If you have any specific questions, please reach out to Thomas. He's happy to help!
What should I wear?
Spirited cocktail attire. Cocktail attire, but feel free to have some fun with it.
What kind of shoes should/shouldn't I wear?
Not stilettos. Wedges or flat soles are a safer bet.
Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?
Our wedding ceremony is indoors and our reception will be under a tent :)
Is it okay to take pictures with our phones and cameras during the wedding?
For the reception? If you want to. But there will be a professional photographer so enjoy the moment!
However, please refrain from taking photos during the ceremony. Like seriously. Don't.
Pancake?
Yes, Pancake. Our cat. She's pretty good. Like 90% of the time.
