Q & A

For all our friends and family who have lots of questions, please check out our Q & A first!

When is the RSVP deadline?

We ask that you kindly RSVP by August 29, 2023.

Can I bring a date?

If your save the date and/or invitation specifies 'guest', then yes!

Are kids welcome?

As much as we love little ones, we will not be including them in the ceremony or reception.

What will the weather be like?

Its New England - which means its unpredictable! The average temp at this time of year is usually mid 60's, but it could be warmer or colder. We recommend having a layer as the ceremony is outside, but the reception will be indoors (there will be access to the outside area throughout the reception as well).

Where should I park?

For anyone staying at Smugglers Notch Resort we will having shuttles running, but if for some reason you are driving to the venue there is a parking lot on site (and you are encouraged to leave your car there overnight if you drink).

Are the ceremony and reception locations wheelchair accessible?

Yes!

What should I wear?

We are requesting that all of our guests dress in cocktail/formal attire. We recommend suit & tie and cocktail dresses.

Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?

Our wedding ceremony is outdoors (on grass), but our reception will be inside the barn!

Is it okay to take pictures with our phones and cameras during the wedding?

We would love for you to take pictures during cocktail hour and the reception, but we ask that you refrain from using phones (even for photos) during the ceremony.

Do I have to stay at the suggested accommodations?

No - we've just listed some of our favorites! While our preferred accommodation is Smugglers' Notch Resort (because this is the only location we are running shuttles to/from), there are a number of lovely Airbnbs, Bed and Breakfasts' and other lodging both in the Jeffersonville and Stowe area!

Story

For those of you that don't know the story - buckle up. It all started 6 years (yes 6 whole years) before we actually went on our first date. Laura worked at the Northshore Mall in the summers during college break. One of these summers (2013 to be exact) Paul lost his sunglasses overboard while sailing, so in an attempt to replace them he stumbled into a store at the mall, that Laura just so happened to be working at. We'd like to say that Laura helped Paul pick out a pair of sunglasses, they exchanged information, and the rest was history. Unfortunately, it wasn't that easy. Paul left the store empty handed (unless you count Laura's phone number), and their paths didn't cross again for 6 years. After enough persistence, strategically timed text messages and photos of sailing in the Caribbean, Laura finally agreed to a boat ride and they've been together ever since. Maybe if he had actually bought the sunglasses it wouldn't have taken so long!! Laura and Paul got engaged September 27th, 2022 while visiting Scotland.
