Story
We like refer to this adventure with each other as a dating app success story.
IT ALL STARTED WITH A MESSAGE...
We met early January 2020. Just a couple of singles who fatefully swiped right. To this day, neither us remembers who messaged who first, but after only a few messages and some cheeky back-and-forth banter, we decided to meet at a local brewery for an introduction. Shortly after that we have become pretty inseparable. 2020s events were a challenging and defining moment in our lives. For us, an opportunity to band together and make life sweeter, more intentional, and partnered. If we weren’t working, we were spending time running, making meals in the kitchen, gathering with friends, watching movies, walking River (our sweet lab mix) through the park or at the beach, visiting family…. and falling in love.
The world was on a momentary hold. We have taken that unforgettable experience and started laying the framework for what will carry us through life. Strong communication, respect, loyalty, and seeking our faith through love. Together, we have only begun to build a life we’ve dreamt of.
...AND IT JUST KEEPS GETTING BETTER!
Through our shared experiences, common interests, values and friends, our relationship has blossomed into an inseparable bond.
We are so excited to take the next step of this wonderful adventure and can't wait to celebrate with all of our favorite people!
Tidbits
How did you first meet?
Hinge. Our first meeting was at Wasserhound brewery. Note we have that distinction. Just a casual hello very soon after swiping.
Who made the first move? How?
We have lost track. Was it somewhere within our early texts? Our first meeting? Him then her and then ultimately they…
It was a collected effort.
As it will remain.
Who's going to take out the trash?
Whoever happens to be closer to the trash.
What's your favorite activity together?
We enjoy vacationing, staying active, cooking meals, long walks, fire pit, playing with River, occasionally dancing in the kitchen and movie watching.
What was your most memorable date?
We both have different moments that stand out early on…
Paul: My most memorable date was our second date. We decided to go for a run at the oceanfront together with River. I remember it was a cold run. Even more clearly, I remember how happy I was running with a beautiful woman and a dog. It was a sight that I had seen countless times before and always wanted for myself. Having Andrea and River with me then, even with all that was still to come, made me feel like I had finally gotten somewhere that I had always wanted.
Andrea: No cliche. Our first date was when I realized Paul was something special. No idea the degree, quite yet. I followed up on his invitation to meet up again soon. Specifically to take the pup for a hike through First Landing State Park. I was already meeting up with a couple and their dog (River’s friend) and thought it was a great, low pressure, excuse to see him again. He was free, offered to walk an 80lb excitedly pulling lab, and walked beside me. I remember how funny and easy he was to talk with in a new group setting. How inviting and comfortable he made everyone feel by clearly being himself.
After the hike, Paul invited River and I to Smartmouth Brewery Pilot House where he sat square in front of me and our conversation flowed. We created a movie moment. A bubble in time. I’d later attribute that to how authentic and focused Paul is. We slowed time down. He met my heart with being open and honest right off the bat.
Paul especially had my attention, that first easy going date, with how kind he was to make sure River was just as well taken care of as he made me feel.
Where are you going for your honeymoon?
Anywhere with beautiful beaches or mountains. Florida? Alaska? Abroad?
What's the most memorable trip you have taken together?
Andrea: Our first couple get away. We attended one of his friends weddings. This would become the weekend I KNEW. Oh the belly laughs, the dance moves, and the conversations. The most memorable and intimate wedding set at a cidery in the mountains of Nelson County, VA. Beautiful people he loves, autumn, more hiking, a cute cabin. Can I seek a lifetime of this with you?
Paul: I knew a few months prior when visiting family. On this particular visit we were out on the boat with my parents in New Jersey. A fun trip overall. Andrea had accidentally fallen in the water getting into the boat and sitting in the water she started laughing at herself. I jumped in after her and joined in the laughter. So special that my mom happened to catch that moment on her phone. *photo attached to our moments page*
Of course, most recently, the trip to top all others. The REAL start of a new adventure. The trip to Colorado visiting family. The trip a proposal was made.
Check out the video in our story!
We’re on the same page about
The most important things to us: Faith, family, friends. Most importantly is spending time with the people we love most. (You all!)
How did you propose?
Gondola ride and hike to the top of a mountain in Vail, Colorado. Sound Of Music views called for a classic movie pose when I came up (quickly) behind and kneeled on one knee.

Q & A
For all our friends and family who have lots of questions, please check out our Q & A first!
When is the RSVP deadline?
As soon as invitations are sent we are thinking September 16th, so we can have an accurate headcount. You can RSVP directly on our website or app, using your name and email address to access your personal RSVP.
If you do not respond by September 16th, please bring a chair and a sandwich. We’d love to have you.
Can I bring a date?
Please check your invite for your +1! If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out.
What time should I arrive?
We recommend aiming to arrive 20-30 minutes prior to the ceremony start time, just in case there are any delays en route. The Church is located on a historic military fort so do not get discouraged when you cross over a bridge and through a small tunnel.
What will the weather be like?
All you out-of-towners, welcome to Virginia! Where the forecast's made up and plans don't matter.
During the day, the weather in Hampton should be a beautifully cool early-fall day, averaging highs of 70ish degrees, but it will get pretty chilly once it gets dark. Or it could be 80 degrees, humid and raining. We never really know. But just in case, please bring some warm layers so you stay comfy no matter the temperature.
What should I wear?
The dress code for our celebration is semi-formal / evening cocktail attire. After such a whirlwind year, our wedding is an excuse to get a little glam!
Are kids welcome?
As much as we love your little ones, we will not be including them in the ceremony or reception. Just those in the wedding party.
Parents - we invite you to let loose and enjoy a kid-free date night on us! We can't wait to celebrate with you!
Please reach out if you have any questions, or if you're coming from out of town and need childcare recommendations.
Where should I park?
We will absolutely have this ironed as we get closer. There are several places with free parking. We are getting a map together so its very clear. Please check back.
Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?
Indoors most of the time. Our wedding ceremony is at the Chapel, cocktail hour outside (weather permitting), and our reception will be held in the Historic Post Office.
Is it okay to take pictures with our phones and cameras during the wedding?
It’s our desire to have an unplugged ceremony, so please make sure your devices are -OFF- during the ceremony. We promise to share our professional photos with you!
However, everything is fair game after we make our grand exit from the ceremony as Mr & Mrs! We would love for you to take photos of all the happenings and happiness after the ceremony.
Don't forget to share all your photos and videos on our app Joy, as well as on social media so we can relive all the love through your eyes. We will have a hashtag posted here as we get closer.
Will you live stream your ceremony?
We are considering this as an option for those who are unable to attend the wedding. Once we hear the feedback we will post details for those participating. It is not seeming likely. Photos, if requested, can absolutely be shared.
Will there be dancing?
You betcha! We can't wait to see you out there.
What if I have a dietary restriction?
Please let us know through email. We will make accommodations for you.
Are the ceremony and reception locations wheelchair accessible?
Yes! There is an elevator and there are spacious handicap stalls in both restrooms.
Are masks required? Will they be provided?
No.
As we all adapt to an uncertain time with COVID, we will continue to monitor the guidelines and recommendations set forth by the CDC and our state. The safety of our guests is our utmost priority. At this time, we remain hopeful that we will be able to celebrate our special day with everyone.
We are working steadfastly with our venue and vendors to develop a plan to guarantee all the necessary precautions are being taken to ensure a safe and joyous celebration.
We encourage all of our guests to do what is best for their health and safety. We understand that is a deeply personal decision.
*** If you feel unwell or are experiencing any flu-like or COVID-19 symptoms, please stay home and if requested, we can send photos***
Please continue to visit our wedding website as we update with the latest information. Feel free to contact us directly should you have any questions or concerns.
We hope that you will stay safe and healthy during this time.
I have a question not answered here; how do I contact you?
From now until October, you can email us at sigfam2022@gmail.com if you have any further questions. We would also LOVE your email address. If you could send it our way.
Once October rolls around, please call or text our our wonderful coordinator Ellie with any questions or concerns. You can reach her at 336.568.0879 anytime during our wedding week.
If you have additional questions or issues, you may also contact Andrea's mom Patty (757.254.7909), Paul’s mom Vickie (609.707.5114) the Maid of Honor Savannah (973.919.7587), or the Best Man Ryan (609.828.2051) via call or text.
On the day of, please call anyone but the Bride and Groom
What should/could I do between the ceremony and the reception?
We recommend that after you leave the ceremony you hang out a bit. Say hello! This is because the area between the venues can have traffic backups. Then when you head to the reception area the doors to the venue will not open until 5:30pm. For the early arrivers and the time between we recommend you explore one of the many local bars and breweries located only a block away (walking distance) from the HPO.
