Travel and Accommodation

Note

Travelling to Scotland

Loch Goil is a beautiful location that we can’t wait to share with you. It is very rural so the best way to arrive is by car.

The village of Lochgoilhead is a few lochs over from the famous Loch Lomond and just over an hour's scenic drive from Glasgow, including a stop at the Rest and Be Thankful viewpoint.

On the big day, it will be useful to have your car there for the short drive between the ceremony and reception.

Plane

Plane or Train

The nearest airport is Glasgow International, an hours drive away. We'd recommend either renting a car or arranging a lift from there to the Lochgoilhead.

By train, we’d advise either travelling to Glasgow station or changing there and onto Arrochar and Tarbet station which is 30 minutes drive from Lochgoilhead. There is a public bus from Arrochar if necessary but it isn’t very frequent.

Please get in touch if you need help arranging a car share.

Hotel Product

Drimsynie Estate Holiday Village, Argyll Holidays, Lochgoilhead, Cairndow, UK

Accommodation options in the immediate Loch Goil area are fairly limited. There are some small hotels/B&Bs or self catering cottages available to find online.

Fortunately there is also lots of space at the Drymsynie Estate Holiday Village. This is our suggested accommodation. It’s walkable to the Lochgoilhead church and a 10 minute drive from the reception venue. They have a range of accommodation options including lodges with hot tubs, static carvans or double hotel rooms.

Please, please book early, they currently have availability but are not able to hold rooms for us. The next villages with accommodation are more than an hours drive away.

Gift List

We hugely appreciate the time and effort that everyone is putting in to come to our wedding and won't be expecting any gifts at all. Some people though have still said that they would like to give us something, so for those of you that do, we have put together a gift list for our honeymoon. We are really excited to be spending 3 months travelling around South America (the plan is Ecuador, Peru and Bolivia) and so any gifts for the activities and stays that we have got planned would help make our trip even more special.
