\u201CIf you\u2019re ever blue and need to feel better about yourself, come over to my place on laundry day and watch me try to put the fitted sheet back on the mattress\u201D read the Bumble bio (Craig\u2019s) that would lead to Allara and Craig\u2019s first date on July 27, 2018. They met for the first time at the Aquarium of the Bay in San Francisco. Craig was punctual, nervous, and wearing an outfit he would later regret. Allara was late because she saw a trio of labrador retrievers on the walk over and had to stop and say hello (some things never change).
After a great first date spent getting to know each other while searching for an elusive octopus, they each consulted their respective friend groups for advice. Thankfully, all were in favor of more dates. From there, it was 1.5 years of exploring the best that San Francisco had to offer, as well as notable trips to Australia (where Craig met Allara\u2019s extended family within the first six months of dating), the Cook Islands, Las Vegas, San Diego, Los Angeles, and the wildest of all\u2026.Missouri.
In March of 2020, Allara convinced Craig to come back to Stockton with her \u201Cfor a week or two\u201D after offices shut down across the world to shelter in place. They moved out two years later.
During that stretch, Craig got to know his future in-laws better than anyone should. Although he would be ok knowing less about everybody\u2019s daily routines, their time in Stockton was a blessing in disguise. They grew as a couple and family, and of course added a family pup to the mix (on day 1 of being in Stockton), who made everything better even when she was being a menace.

To avoid going too crazy, they embarked on plenty of roadtrips (with Craig doing most of the driving). Many of those were to Truckee, a town near Lake Tahoe, during which they fell in love with the area where they\u2019ll ultimately get married.
Spring of 2022 brought Allara and Craig back to SF, where they've been enjoying its North Beach neighborhood ever since. Allara spends her time doing pottery, working out, and chasing Taylor Swift easter eggs, while Craig brews kombucha, obsesses over Indiana sports, and tends his ever growing collection of houseplants. Together they love eating out, going to concerts, dreaming up new cocktails, and scoping out the next exotic vacation. At Christmas, Craig made his second trip out to Australia (now, a lot more familiar with Allara\u2019s family) and proposed one evening at Anglesea Beach to the absolute elation of the whole family.
So, here we are five years later: Craig no longer has to try to put the fitted sheets on the mattress, because Allara doesn\u2019t mind doing laundry but really hates taking out the trash. We\u2019re so thrilled to celebrate our marriage in Tahoe with our closest friends and family, six years to the day of our first date at the aquarium. We\u2019ve spent some really special time in Truckee together over the past few years, from celebrating Craig\u2019s 30th birthday with river days and cocktails, to having an unnecessarily raucous New Years\u2019 Eve party for three, and riding out power-outage-inducing snowstorms together.
We can\u2019t wait to share even more incredible memories here with the people we love \u2013 see you on July 27, 2024!

Naturally, they needed more girls to even out the male-to-female ratio, and Rebecca, new to DC, signed up to make friends. Throughout the kickball season, she thought Ryan was cute but incorrectly assumed he wasn't interested.\n\nFinally, at the end of the season the league hosted a free beer party. After a few hours of chatting (and drinking), Ryan looked at Rebecca and said, \"this was fun, we should do this again sometime.\"\n\nShortly after, Ryan asked Rebecca if she wanted to see Trevor Noah at the Kennedy Center. (A pretty awesome first date!) The rest they say, is history.\n\nRyan\u2019s Version: \u201CWe should do this again sometime,\u201D Ryan said as he and Rebecca finished a game of skeeball at the bar after the final game of their first season as kickball teammates during Summer 2017. Eventually, they did, a few weeks later at a Trevor Noah show at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C.\n\nVery quickly, Rebecca and Ryan found a groove. Supported by great friends and family, near and far, they began to share wonderful memories. From the year-round kickball squad on the National Mall (fueled by Fireball and Madhatter), to seeing Caamp anywhere/anytime, or their annual holiday tour between Ohio and Nashville, an enjoyable life was taking shape.\n\nOver the years, a shared interest in travel, walks around D.C. after work, or fresh produce from neighborhood farmers markets, a growing love has led the two of them to this special occasion.
