Rupert and Flo met on September 15th 2017. Whenever Rupert is asked he says it was 'good old-fashioned, drunk in a bar' but really we have Flo's sister Mollie to thank for their meeting.

Mollie was off to a friend's birthday but didn't fancy going alone so dragged Flo along with her. Rupert's friend was also invited to the same party, but similarly wanted a friend to accompany him... that's where Rupert comes in!

Not knowing anyone at the party Rupert approached Flo with the very creative chat up line, 'So how do you know the birthday girl?' and to his delight Flo replied with 'I don't'. They bonded over being the only two people celebrating the birthday of someone they didn't know and decided it would make much better sense to spend the evening together. By September 23rd, the following weekend, (6 years to the day on their wedding day!) they had already been on three dates... and Rupert had drunkenly said he loved her (playing it cool as always!). One week later they were official, it just took another five years for the ring to follow!

Since then they have had sweet Ottilie join them. Who knew Bunga Bunga Battersea would have been the start for such a gorgeous little family. And yes, this is a photo from their first date in Borough Market!
