Story
Our story begins in difficult times, when the whole world was in the beginnings of the Covid Pandemic (early 2020). As individuals who didn’t yet know each other yet, we surprisingly had much in common, most of all our belief system. We are both deeply spiritual Christians, and enjoy church and fellowship with our spiritual family very much.
Then, lockdown came and life as we knew it changed. Everything was closed and the church was no exception. Without any physical church to attend, we had to get creative. A meetings app called Zoom was beginning to get lots of attention as the go-to app for work and meetings, and so Daniel with a group of his friends seized the initiative and initiated their own little online church that met in zoom. Sandra was one of the earliest newcomers that joined this online group. So this was how we first met: in a self-initiated online zoom church at the height of the covid lockdown.
The group was small, but we were happy and freely shared our time, energy and familial love with each other. However, for Daniel and Sandra, things did not proceed beyond the friendship stage for a long time. Romance in zoom is hard! It was not until the birthday of the group’s leader came up, and Daniel decided to create a physical birthday card as a special gift for him. This required him to travel amidst lockdown conditions and meet every single of the members in person to obtain their well wishes and blessings in writing. It was in the course of this card signing process that Daniel finally got to meet Sandra in the flesh, and their eyes were finally opened to each other. The first sparks of romance began to flicker.
Now, there was a special touch to this card, which involved the use of a Golden Ink pen. Daniel wanted this card to be a regal and beautiful gift, so he decided that everyone should write their messages in gold ink. When it came to Sandra’s turn though, something interesting happened; she accidentally kept the Golden Pen! And Daniel, caught up in the moment of meeting her, totally missed the fact that it was no longer with him!
It was only after Daniel had left that Sandra finally noticed she had possession of the pen. She quickly reached out to Daniel to alert him to the fact and also to arrange another meeting to return him the pen. Many laughs were had over this happy little accident when they met again, and from there, a lasting conversation developed. This conversation soon took a romantic turn; mutual feelings blossomed and eventually bore the fruits of the deep and loving relationship that we have today.
So that concludes the 1st chapter of the story of Daniel and Sandra: It began amidst terrible times, but through divine appointment, they were finally brought together and signed it off with a humble Golden Pen. It marks the end of the courtship, and also the beginning of a journey that is divinely ordained with Gold.
We give Glory, Thanks and heartfelt Praise to our Lord, Jesus Christ, who is the author and finisher of our faith.
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”
