We are renting a "villa" for all of our friends and family to stay in! The rental property consists of 12 suites (each with a bathroom, kitchenette, and patio) on two floors, and a shared lawn, pool, and outdoor kitchen/dining area for everyone to enjoy. Please check out the property's website!
Flight Information
Our villa is located at the center of Crete, so you will be able to fly into the international airport in Chania (CHQ) or Heraklion (HER).
If you need a travel buddy, please let us know and we can connect you with other guests.
We will be arriving at the tail end of the high season in Crete! Once we finalize the reservation for our accommodations, please keep an eye on flights for the best rates and availability. We recommend using Google Flights to receive alerts on changes in ticket prices!
Heraklion Airport Car Rental
There are quite a few car rental options near both airports in Heraklion and Chania, as well as Rethymno! You do not need a special driver's license to drive legally in Greece, so long as you have your Minnesota driver's license.

When is the RSVP deadline?

What will the weather be like?
In Autumn, Crete averages between 73 and 54 degrees during the day. The island usually has clear skies at this time of year, as well!
Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?
Our wedding ceremony and reception will be outdoors!
Is it okay to take pictures with our phones and cameras during the wedding?
We will be hiring a photographer to take pictures of the ceremony and reception, so please keep your phones tucked away and enjoy the day with us!

Is there a gifts registry?
Nope! Your willingness to come to Greece is more than gift enough.
What should I budget for?
Sarah and Evan will be covering the cost of accommodations for five nights, at the end of which the ceremony and reception will take place.
Guests will be responsible for travel expenses to and from Crete, most meals, and any additional excursions.
We are looking to book for the end of September, at which point we have seen plane ticket prices range anywhere between $990 and $1,400.
Our accommodations will have kitchens for everyone to use however often they would like and there are a great variety of restaurants and cafes around Crete at different price points.
Similarly, there are many things to do on Crete at different price points. You could choose to pay for a wine tasting or a "safari" tour, which would be on the pricier side of activities. You will also find many museums around the island, which usually have very minimal entrance fees. There are also many activities you can do for free, such as hiking, exploring caves, and relaxing at the pool/beach.
Can I rent a vehicle?
There are quite a few options for renting vehicles at the nearest city, Rethymno, which is about a 10 minute drive from our villa. However, the villa does have limited parking spaces, so if you are interested in renting a vehicle for more than a day, please let us know! Depending on how many people would like to rent a vehicle, we may need to arrange for people to share.
